I can, where was Da Silva during the last seven or eight games of the season when we wanted battlers fighting for the shirt ? The lad can play, so why didn't he show it when it mattered ? Instead he went through the motions, took his money, and now wants to be away. Good riddance.
Has the potential to be a decent player but probably thinks he's better than he is at this stage of his career? More than likely that he's not overly enamoured with the size of his pay packet.. Any player that truly wants to leave should do just that!!
... and I thought I was the only one who saw that; too many flicks and fancy turns that went astray, too many 'world cup' balls that found an opposition player, the shrug and jog back. That player is no great loss.
Good riddance to all of our players who can actually play football Good riddance to every lad who can play. That's the way forward Don't you see there is something awfully wrong at the club?
And any player that can't command a good wage packet? That's because they're not very good. It's ****, I know. But that's the way of things now.
Let's see who comes in for him and whether the valuation is met before we decide whether he can command a good wage? I'd rather he went if he doesn't want to play for us,wouldn't you?
Andy Robertson came to us as a full Scotland international, who’s just been named PFA Young Scotland Player Of The Year, he was hardly an unknown.
I was addressing a point about signing nobodies. I can guarantee that most hardened City supporter would have had to look Robbo up, when it was announced. Counter this, how many "somebodies" have we signed that have ended up being ****e.... More costly and far more disappointing. "Names" in football are irrelevant....
Agreed. Outside of lower level Scottish team fans, maybe a couple of Scottish pro scouts, and one who shopped him around to English clubs, no-one even in Scotland would have any knowledge of the lad. The fact that he was a smart lad, and very decent player, was what made him get out of the nobody category. We (HCAFC) took a punt on a nobody and it worked. If my memory serves me well - we either sent a scout up there once (or got wind of him from a local scout) to watch him play for Dundee Utd ! Robbo's determination made the difference .
He played for Scotland, won PFA Scotland Player Of The Year and was in SPL Team Of The Season and you think no-one in Scotland had heard of him?
The original point was how many City fans had heard of him. Which would have been very, very few if any.
I'm sure they hadn't, but once they checked out who he was, I suspect they might be a little more excited than they are about a player who was released half way through their SPL loan.
A Celtic youth reject who played for Queens Park and then Dundee United. I would say very few fans were aware. Not nobody.
Update. Apparently our bid has been turned down. Looks like we've been rejected by Weatherfield County and Rochdale now.
He was PFA Scotland Young Player of the year for 2013-14 and in the PFA Scotland Team Of The Year for 2013-14, while playing for Dundee United in the SPL, he'd also played for the Scotland first team, of course people in Scotland had heard of him. It's like suggesting that English football fans aren't aware of Jack Grealish or Trent Alexander-Arnold.
