Copied : Here’s a run down of the main lints for William Storey’s TS interview this evening I’ll post the full audio of the interview in a separate post... Very interesting... he did his homework, but in all honesty if something is too good to be true... Then it is ♂️ @markdonnelly_ William Storey on BBC Newcastle right now: "I stand in a very, very straight-forward position. I've put the best bid on the table and have backing from four of the biggest names in Europe, not just Britain, backing me." #SAFC @markdonnelly_ WS: "I know that bid is miles ahead of anyone else. I'm not a finance suit or some Spreadsheet Johnny to take the club and flip it on." #SAFC @markdonnelly_ WS on his backers: "I've brought together a group of four major backers. Two have a track record in sport, two are significant financial investors." Won't name them due to the NDA, but says he can 'soon'. #SAFC @markdonnelly_ WS: "I've done my homework. I know who's involved, who's interested and I knew there were some consortiums who were interested then went away because of COVID." @markdonnelly_ WS quizzed on his financial credibility. "Last May, Rich Energy, was valued at more than £100m." "85 per cent of the money is coming from four backers - all of whom you'll have heard of." #SAFC @markdonnelly_ Storey now talking about parties wanting to 'knick' the club who have charges over #SAFC... @markdonnelly_ WS: "There's a Uruguayan guy there who's got 20 per cent, hasn't put a penny in, and is supposed to be interested." #SAFC @markdonnelly_ WS: "I'm only interested in Sunderland. I'd be desperately disappointed if we don't get. I've identified five players that we can get into the club pretty quickly." #SAFC @markdonnelly_ So essentially, within a 20 minute interview, William Storey has: - Told the current owners to 'put up or shut up' - Suggested creditors of the club are 'financial locusts' Interesting tactics, given they'll all have to sign-off on a deal... #SAFC
**** it, I hope it goes through just so I can see how it turns out. I'm so depressed, bored and jobless due to Covid so I'm up for a bit of a rollercoaster ride.
dont want Storey anywhere near our club would hate Donald even more if he sells to him another ****ing conman chancer
He was asked about the salary cap and he said not a concern as its not gonna be legally enforceable. It’s gonna come down to who the backers are, it’s looking more and more like he does actually have some.
In all seriousness if the 4 backers are named, who are all legit and well known, would that change your mind?
Yeah if he's got the backers and it's all legit I see little reason to write him off. If he hasn't got them and it's all a con then he wants sectioning, which doesn't seem very likely.
If it’s a fantasy he’s just further ruining a reputation he’s trying hard to rebuild, I’m inclined to believe the backing is there, and that moves focus again to Stu and does he have any intention of selling? Was interested in his scathing opinion of FPP lot, ‘suits collecting interest on loans and hoping to steal the club’.
He appears to be confirming what I said about FPP making the lowest bid and still being interested in a takeover ... ... I've no idea what will happen next but it does vindicate my previous comments.
Exactly, a couple of semi vague tweets about buying Sunderland might give him some credit with no comeback but to get to this point and be shown to be full of **** would make him a laughing stock. He's not wrong about FPP, I respect them wanting a good deal and who knows what Donald was doing with the goalposts during talks, but when the loan deal was what we were left with I doubted how much they (or Fuhrman) actually wanted the club.
