could anyone have really predicted just how things would turn out? I just wonder how long the Chinese kept things covered up hoping that they could cure this? Also, I am finding it strangely difficult at the lack of deaths in China, when for example, UK, USA, Italy and Spain have had so many more. Plus no one speaks of the Muslim camps that China had set up to "cleanse" them.
Just found out an old work colleague and someone I "bounce ideas off" is currently in hospital with this virus.
well wuhan apparantly went into lockdown on the 23rd of January. If the chinese were worried enough to shutdown a whole city (and more after)
even as close to February, most of chinas factories were shut down (i'm assuming cause of the lockdown) and factories were converted to make masks

surely that suggested it was pretty deadly considering many consider the CCP don't really value the life of its grunts and decided to take a hit on their economy rather than the standard practice of making the people work
We didn't go into lockdown until the 23rd of March, even after the the italians went into lockdown on the 9th of march and we still haven't stopped flights from any countries coming in and there were videos and uploads of italian doctors overwhelmed with having to pick who lives and dies.
You'd think the above would have set some alarm bells ringing as well as kick some of our own manufacturing to prepare for what was coming ahead
Why keep blaming the ****ing government, try blaming the regional NHS trusts who would rather spend hundreds of thousands on unnecessary managers and middle managers each year than spend their budget on medical supplies.Well this ones on the BBC so you might be able to find it - hospitals told to reuse single use PPE or creatively invent PPE out of nothing as supplies might run out this weekend.
Let’s not bitch about the government though, that’s the most important thing.
Why keep blaming the ****ing government, try blaming the regional NHS trusts who would rather spend hundreds of thousands on unnecessary managers and middle managers each year than spend their budget on medical supplies.
Then everybody harping on about care homes not having enough PPE, 84% of all care homes are in the private sector, they are NOT run by the NHS, they are privately owned or run by corporations and DO NOT rely on the usual NHS supply chain, they source their PPE from the suppliers themselves and like most businesses they don’t stock large quantities of equipment which is dead money while it sits in a store room.
Now we move onto keeping hospitals supplied, again every body blaming the government, well here’s a news flash for those who don’t know, I have many friends in the haulage industry who are delivering to hospitals and NHS trusts and you CANNOT deliver goods to any hospital if they only open their goods in department between 9am and 3pm and are generally shut between 12-1 for dinner leaving a mere 5 hour window for deliveries, so when you have delays in loading and delays in earlier deliveries to other hospitals so when you finally arrive at a delivery point and it’s shut what do you do, just dump it on the ****ing doorstep, no you have to take it all the way back to the depot and try again the next day, it’s not the Government who are totally to blame their are many factors why deliveries aren’t being delivered and the biggest is asshole jobsworth goods in managers who won’t bend the rules and allow deliveries 24/7.
However the biggest problem is the simple fact that there are only so many suppliers and manufacturers of PPE and unless you haven’t noticed the whole fu*king world wants the same stuff and for the time being demand is outstripping supply which is rare and until the manufacturers increase production the sad fact is you cannot have what isn’t there.
Rant over.

Mmmm ... Incorrect I'm afraid ... Around about this time (14th Feb ) the British media (and public) were more concerned with the death of Caroline Flack and everyone was encouraging everyone else to be nice.
On 14th February the EU published a Rapid Risk Assessment. It included the following summary advice: 'THE RISK ASSOCIATED WITH SARS CoV-2 INFECTION FOR THE EU/EEA & UK POPULATION IS CURRENTLY LOW.'

Might have to consider wearing a hat
Just out of interest, which bits do you know to be factual and which bits are untrue. An evidence based reply would be much more of a constructive contribution during these horrific times. And Ellers laughs about Karens on Facebook when you’ve got people buying this.
I get what you say, yes in the long run the government must sort it out, however you CANNOT with all the will in the world fix something if you don’t know it’s broken, the Government are not responsible for hospitals and private care homes having no PPE, this is down to management of these establishments, and when this is all over its my opinion that the system must change, at the moment it’s all about profit and loss whereas it should be all about living or dying, the management of the NHS has a lot to answer for, and this includes previous health ministers of both parties, it’s a simple fact after this heads must roll. This is kind of the point I was trying to make.
A lot of these problems are down to administration downfalls due to layers of red tape.
However, the government must take final responsibility and surely should have sorted these issues out by now?
Excellent input Jeff. At least you could be bothered to write that. Cheers mateCan’t be bothered Bob, if you lot have nothing better to do than spend nearly all day on here then good luck to you, I’ve got better things to do
How are you Bob, and how is the wife bearing up, hope all is well.Excellent input Jeff. At least you could be bothered to write that. Cheers mate

Looks like it was just her every day symptoms flaring up to be honest Turkish. She's rightly paranoid as hell at the moment. My step brother (aged 50) passed away last night. Found in his bed in Somerset last night. I didnt really know him that well and just waiting to find out more. He did speak to my stepfather earlier in the week saying he felt unwell. How are you Bob, and how is the wife bearing up, hope all is well.
