I wonder what Bhatia has offered our loanees to get them on board the Titanic? The 21st century of Jim Gregory’s brown envelopes for Stan no doubt.

I changed the post you replied to. These players are already under contract, so the deals would just have been between us and the parent clubs as to how much of their wages we will pay. I can't see their agents having much input.

Guessing a 4-4-2. Hemed needs supply from out wide, Wells is a poacher and can feed off of his knock-downs, so we need someone who can get the crosses in but who is also willing to track back and help the defence (Pav?).

Unless we get someone else in, unfortunately the defence kinda picks itself,

Lumley

Bidwell - Baptiste - Leinster - Rangel

Eze - Scowen - Luongo - Wszolek

Wells - Hemed

I know it leaves Freeman out, but this also gives pace out wide with Eze.

Think we'd be giving away even more goals with our current defence and 4-4 -2. If Hall were fit and we can bring in a CB with some pace ( which we really have lost with Ned going) I wouldn't be surprised to see us back in 3-5-2 or 5-3-2 If we are going to play both the 2 new men up front. I suspect for Wigan though we will continue with just 1 striker, Hemed probably.

I would say that BFG2 had more of the ball than most of our players on Tuesday. I think Conor has really had way long enough to prove himself. Ingram is just not (yet?) up to Championship level.

The manager has largely the same team as Olly had. BFG2 seems no worse than Ned. Robinson featured fairly rarely before so no enormous regular loss. The only sighnificant difference is Ingram who needs some time elsewhere I think to build his shot confidence. I don’t fancy him doing that confidence building between our posts, sorry. Ingram alone, is not the reason we have a -11 GD.

Players’ attitude must be down to the management. Most teams seem to get a new manager bounce, we get a flounder.

The ‘keeper and two CB’s are a key component of any team; to let them leave and not replace at least 2 out of 3 is plain daft.

A players attitude is down to the player himself... and no-one else. He decides himself. Some of them need to grow a pair and man up.
Whether they like the manager or not, the only sensible way out is to play good football and get yourself a good move. Currently this team has, generally, been terrible and each player needs to find some self-pride and be a ‘professional’ footballer, if not for QPR then for their teammates and themselves. They haven’t shown us that so far.

I don't know if he'll pick them both from the start but I can't see him dropping Freeman. Wszolek was ineffective Tuesday so could see him getting the chop. My guess 4-3-3. Would be nice to have Hall back.
Lumley

Bidwell - Baptiste - Leistner - Rangel

Freeman - Luongo - Scowen

Wells - Hemed - Eze

This could well be it, as SM has usually prefered 4-3-3.
Can't help thinking that 3-5-2 would suit us best once Hall is fully fit, with the two new lads up top and Eze and Freeman/Luongo ahead of Scowan, but too risky to try a new system in our predicament.

As you’ll know, I’m a big critic of the administration of this club and the appointment of McCalamity as Manager.

I am, however, at present pleased with the loan signings of Rangel, Hemed and Wells and sincerely hope they will be instrumental in reversing the club’s fortunes this season.

That said, I completely agree with those that have already questioned the decision to dispense with youth and go for experience when such a big thing was made of the latter (and was how McCalamity’s appointment was sold to the media).

Anyway, however badly run the club is, however poor the managerial appointment and however mysterious the overall strategy, I still want us to be doing the business out there on the pitch.

Let’s start with Wigan, please.

McClaren's errors so far are:-
1. Starting the seaon with an average keeper who cannot kick rather than an average keeper who kicks better
2. Forcing players to play out from the back game 1 knowing this
3. Having Smith on the pitch when playing out from the back (& no wingers) game 1
4. Not shutting up shop at 3-1 at West Brom
5. Loaning out Manning and not recognising his skills and place in the pecking order
6. Not swapping keepers game 2 or 3 or 4
7. Not playing Smith when he instructs the defence to go long
8. Not shaking up the dream 3 in midfield
9. Not loaning out Sylla and Washington

Losing Furlong who came good after 15 games, Ned who was the only player with pace (granted he made 1 costly error per game often), Robinson who was excellent and played most of last season and the Smithies best goalie in the league is not his fault.

David M has Blackburn interested in loaning Sylla and Portsmouth Smyth. I'd prefer to hear some Club want Washington .
Probably they loan them all and plus Smith. Then Wells or Hemed or both them get injured so who will we have left....? They better let just two strikers to go loan.

Can't see loaning out Smyth going down well with fans. Sylla I guess would be competing with Hemed and Smith so probably should go.

Personally, wouldn't want any of our players going on loan to another Championship club - you just know they'll turn into superstars overnight and keep the loaning club above us (see Manning at Rotherham as an example)

After the ludicrous decision to ship out Manning, if Smyth goes too I think it’ll be a while until I bother paying £33 to watch them. The kid should be in or close to the side.

My preference would have been to loan out no one except Washington. I don't like Sylla at all but we know how lucky we've been in the past with injuries so we need 4 strikers on the books. Sylla can be bottom of pecking order.

If we need a runner to collect from Smith's knock downs we can use Wzoleck, Smyth, Eze and sever other options.

I'd have thought if McClaren is planning to use a front 2 with Hemed and Wells, he'd want Smyth as back up for Wells.
