Would you rather they just brought anyone for the sake of filling a position, or wait to get it right. Maybe that’s why we brought Long.

The way I see it is the mistake is more about letting JRod or Sam G go without getting the replacement, it was a gamble that didn’t pay off, factored with not breaking the financial governance we rightly have in place.

I'm not stating anything about what we should do in this window but since you asked, we should only buy someone who improves the team for the right price. However, our lack of a target man since Pelle went is a serious error

He's not played well for 23 games so I'm baffled (like I am with most of MP's decisions) that it's taken until now for that to be noticed.

I believe Arsenal is the sticking point in all of this.
It may very well have changed since November when I heard negotiations had gone well with Theo on a potential move.

Everton’s involvement will have upped the price and I have no idea how much Saints were willing to pay.
Just speculating but I feel Arsenal will not let Theo go until after the semi finals. He is on the bench today despite the absence of Ozil, Giroud & Sanchez, but that semi final match is pretty important to Arsenal’s season
