Well I'm pissed off with people not being pissed off when they should be, being pissed off when they should be, and being all over the place, pissed offly speaking, when they aren't sure whether they should be pissed off or not. So there.

As for Theo Walcott. If he wants to sign for Everton and play in front of a bunch of whingeing scousers who'll tell him he's **** after three games without a goal rather than a bunch of whingeing bleedin southerners who'll tell him he's **** if he doesn't score a hat trick by half time on his debut then so be it. I'm pissed off with 'im an' all.

Well I think that's clarified things. Let's see him sign for Everton, close this thread and get back to talking about sacking someone. Anyone will do.

I believe there is enough quality in the SFC squad to get out of trouble as it is. Does the squad have the same belief? I hope so.

There’s a vital position missing there though which is why I we are in the predicament we are. We shipped out 20+ goals for £50m and didn’t replace. I know we got Gabbiadini in but we refuse to play him to our strengths

I agree. On paper we should be doing so much better. Damn that Dutch centre back who didn't do anything particularly wrong, played reasonably well when asked to but who cast such a spectre over our season so far that the whole team has failed to find any real form or goals.

I could imagine a line up of Gabbiadini, Austin, Boufal, Redmond and Tadic at any midtable side in the league. I'd imagine them scoring regularly too.

    Again I agree.

Would you rather they just brought anyone for the sake of filling a position, or wait to get it right. Maybe that’s why we brought Long.

The way I see it is the mistake is more about letting JRod or Sam G go without getting the replacement, it was a gamble that didn’t pay off, factored with not breaking the financial governance we rightly have in place.

Now. Will probably be resurrected every transfer season until he draws his pension.

Bit confused as to the ‘replacing J-Rod and Gallagher’ scenario. Replacing one or two goals a season and some time at the medical centre, and replacing a player that never played?

Gallagher whilst not good enough would be a different option that we have just now.

J Rod would possibly have scored more goals that one or two, think you are being slightly unkind/unrealistic with that.

The point was the mistake was allowing players to leave prior to adequate replacements,

But you’re asking to replace what is essentially deadwood. I presume by replace you’re meaning ‘improve upon’?

Well, of course. Did you need me to provide s job description.

I’ve never been one to simply go like for like, but to improve is motive.

I have said before that I had no problem letting Gallagher go on loan. No point having an option that isn’t good enough. Yes we should have brought someone else in, but I don’t see the point in keeping someone not yet good enough.

Only yesterday there were posts made about having too much mediocrity on the bench.

Well then yes, I agree with the sentiment. But we aren’t failing by not replacing players that don’t play. That’s my point. As Fats says, we can’t moan about letting mediocrity go.

Totally agree, I never thought he was adequate.

I was suggesting the planning of allowing him an jrod going was wrong and I said so in the summer also.

Again, that wasn’t the point of my post, I said we didn’t replace, not that we would go fetch Dowie from retirement...

If either were still here, Jayrod would have had cameo appearances as a sub and probably been as adequate as Long has, at best. Sam wouldn’t have played.

Letting them go was not wrong for me because if they were still here our situation would be the same.

I think we are all roughly saying the same... semantically different, thats all.

Letting them go without replacements was wrong in my opinion. That left an injury prone Austen, Long is well, Shane Long and Gabbiadini was out of for for the last three months of last season.

We are pretty much saying the same thing, but I just don’t think we should have let people go, particularly JRod, without bringing a better replacement first.

It was just pretty **** planning/strategy...
