XG stuff

I might be missing something here but at first glance I thought that was a map of the D-Day Normandy landings. What a load of claptrap! I agree, stats are important in modern day football but surely there is a case for overdoing it?
No gold there, and Juno it should be put to the sword. :emoticon-0138-think

True but it helps you understand where the problem lies rather than just blaming the manager.

Exactly. While we are more defensively frail than last season, which in early games could be argued is down to the manager's system, but now we seem to have adapted, and recently it's been more due to defensive errors or plain bad luck.

Going forward we do create some chances but can't put them away.

But, Walterball is supposed to give us lots of chances, so we do eventually get the goals, and we aren't making any more chances than under the more cautious Rosenior. Is that due to the system, inferior players or a combination?

We apparently tried 43 crosses vs West Brom. I'd love to find out how many of them we actually got a touch on in their area. It feels to me that the inswinging ball from the corner of the area seems especially fruitless.

Yep I just think we’re missing that quality finisher, even in midfield we don’t have anyone that is known for their goal scoring.

This season we seem to be getting quite a few chances on the edge of the box where we really need a player like Tufan.

Last years players with Walter I think we’d be right up there. So frustrating.

So hopefully it’s going to turn our way?
Lovely

It's not XG, but this is interesting.

Bedia gets more shots per 90 than Pedro, but literally never places them into the corner so it's easier for the keeper. Pedro much better with placement, but he doesn't get the chances (which hasn't necessarily been his fault)

I'd love to see the 2 of them given a half together to see what happens. The only time they've been on for more than 10 minutes together was Sheff Wed, and we took a CB off and conceded the second 3 minutes later, killing the game.

Ugbo looks like our typical type of striker, we should go all out for him in January.

I think that passes the eye test - Pedro is a much better finisher but his run in the team came when we were creating less than ever. When Bedia was starting I think we were creating more (but were also more open at the back).

it does pass the eye test
becasue it shows ugbo as the worst, and thats clearly how i and their fans would rate him

Another striker comparison. There's a lot going on here, Pedro is pretty good (but needs more shots), and Bedia is garbo
