xGOT is apparently the xG for a shot on target, after the shot has been made. AKA, he may have shot from 20 yards, which usually has a low xG, but it was a screamer in top bins, so the xGOT would be high.

I'd have loved to see those figures for last season.

Yeah I prefer xGOT. It shows how the player has converted the chance into a high quality one or conversely has squandered a chance that was high quality.

Theres a video I need to find that an ex-analyst for a prem club said there’s data points these teams have that the public will likely never have access to. I love that graph that was posted as it’s a good indicator of who is a quality striker

We were linked in the summer weren’t we and there was a thought he wasn’t good enough.

I’d take him in a heartbeat

Since we started getting Pedro on the ball it was clear he's a top larker, if not as nippy as he once was. You don't bang in double figures in Seria A in multiples season if you aren't. 19 total shots, but of the 8 on target, 5 have gone in (xg of 3.3). It's a shame we haven't fed him more.

Bedia also had 19 shots, 7 on target, 3 goals (including that volleyball effort against Watford which was basically a deflection), with xg of 4.7

Also the graph shows that Moore and Asante are also pretty ****e, so missing out probably wasn't a bad thing in the end. You wonder what could have been with someone like Cannon or Conway though

Cannon was the one I really wanted. He has been a bit hot and cold but his quality is there.

I've become increasingly less concerned about striking options over the past month, I mean yeah we absolutely have to replace Bedia, but if he were to stay fit and we had Pedro start give or take every league game between now and the end of the season i'd take that no questions asked

It means that we shouldn't be in the relegation zone and we've only ourselves to blame.

It means on another day we would have scored more goals, but our performances have been good. :)

They don’t use any of that rubbish, it’s all for fans and pundits to talk about. Same with tactics and formations. All the professionals care about is who’s playing well and who’s scoring goals.

Don't forget the betting agencies. They're the ones who really care about analysing match data.

You’d be amazed at what is used for scouting nowadays. Theres a reason opta make as much money as they do and people pay Tony Bloom’s company for his algorithm

I think he was being sarcastic after someone made a similar comment a while back! (That clubs don't use xG only supporters and betting agencies)
