So where is the blue on our flag? Its an honest question lol...
It's just tradition. They started wearing them in 1882 and have just carried on ever since. Before that they wore white 'knickers' as they were referred to at the time. It doesn't have to be anything to do with the flag. There's no orange in the Dutch flag- they wear that because their royal family came from the House of Orange. No blue in the Italian flag- they wear the blue of the House of Savoy. Up until 1950 Brazil wore all white- very little white in the Brazilian flag.
The three lions come from the Royal Arms of England and were first used in the 12th Century. On this they are gold on a red background. When they FA was formed in 1862 they simply used these royal arms as the basis for their logo but changed the colours to blue on a white background. It is possible that as blue was already used in the FA logo it was considered a suitable colour for use in the kit.

Don't care if it does make me sound like a chauvinistic dinosaur, can't get used to the idea of female commentators!

Its just wrong!! :headbang:

Coverage over here is a dolled up female presenter clearly with no clue and a couple of no hope ex players who do their best to make out they have a clue. ****ing dire.

I miss UK sport's coverage so much it's ridiculous.

Martin Tyler, decent commentator, is doing the commentary.

Shame he's doing it by himself. ****'s sakkkkkke

I agree mate.

Don’t mind them doing SSN etc but it sounds ****ing weird.

I watched the Womens England v Australia cricket the other day with women commentators and it was just right. They were really knowledgeable and I enjoyed the whole match.

But men's football? No. Wierd is the perfect word for it!

Coates is on the bench for Uruguay this afternoon. Suarez has scored 1-0, the World Cup has played second fiddle to the ODI so far this week for me, breathtaking stuff from England yesterday. So close to smashing every record going, and without Big Bad Ben, amazing.
