I found it a bit weird seeing that England had landed in their Florida base, that sort of came out of nowhere. Normally there is a send-off fixture at Wembley before they go and then there'd be coverage of when they'll fly out and stuff. Seemed to just come out of the blue this time that they're already there, and I don't even know when the warm-up games are. Is it me or is the whole build-up more low-key than usual?

It'll also be strange that we don't play for the first week of the tournament.

Def feels like the least hyped world cup i can ever remember

They flew out early, as Touchel wanted them to get acclimatised long before the first game apparently.

It does seem that way. Maybe deliberate by England to keep the pressure off. As an aside, I have been watching the new drama about Gareth Southgate and its good.

Don't know if its just me but I can't seem to get any interest in this competition. Guess the winners will be from France, Spain, Argentina. Other than that don't really care if England do okay or get knocked out in the group stage. First world cup in which I have little to look forward to. When the adverts are going up in the pubs for the Herberts to drink themselves stupid, then something is wrong.

upcoming england games (uk times where known):

ENGLAND GAMES
SAT06JUN 21:00 NEW ZEALAND
WED10JUN ??:?? COSTA RICA

WORLD CUP
WED17JUN 21:00 CROATIA
TUE23JUN 21:00 GHANA but this is Beverley racing afternoon
SAT27JUN 22:00 PANAMA

I was wondering why our friendly against New Zealand was 21:00 as it’s an unusual time for a football game in the UK and it was listed as a home game at Wembley on Sofascore. I’m guessing it’s a game in the US?

And so it goes...

... and where it's going, no one knows.
Won't be a World Cup without Breel Embolo. Seems to have played at every world cup for about 20 years yet I don't think I've ever heard a single thing about him at club level and have no idea who he plays for.

I thought England were based in Kansas City. Did I miss something?

England are 3rd favourites to win ?

I must have missed something here but apart from Harry Kane do we
have any other genuinely world class players ?

Rice? Bellingham? Saka? Stones (if fit)? Guehi? Pickford in international mode.

All would get into most nations squads.
