I'm blown away by that. Speakman is a ****ing animal.

"Yes you can take our prized academy graduate for less than we'd ideally like and much sooner than we'd ideally like. But we'll have one of your best back please?"

Brighton see something in Watson. He's played 13 first ream games and scored 2 goals in the Championship. Weve seen how JC hasnt taken to the PL. If the fee is as reported that's a massive gamble. Sure to include bonuses and a sell on. If we get someone in, that's a great bit of business. The 5-year plan to get to the PL has got a huge boost imo.

By the way how ****ing good is it that we are selling academy players who've played a few games for £15m.

That probably funds the academy for several years.

I bear no ill will to Watson. Hope he has a good career. Glad he signed his pro deal with us so that we were able to bank significant cash for him rather than be left with tribunal.

That's a 'better £15m' than buying and selling for the same amount ...

... financially this club is in great fettle.

Bizarre one with Watson. Still got 18 months left, surely his value only increases to end of season. Not sure why we wouldn't keep him around to help with the run-in and cash in in summer? Or if we go up maybe he could be convinced to stay. Really odd, imo.
Its risk ain't it

I reckon you could be right, if we say went up or even didn't go up...let's say, he scores 5 goals between coming back and the end of the season, his value may stay the same, but if we didn't go up then the ball is still in TW's court. If we did go up, you'd like to think he'd sign on.
