The sell on will be banded

May be 15% up to a certain value

Could be 50% over a certain value

I suppose it's possible but it would have to have a lot of bands to work.

If we sell for £20m with 10% sell on ... we get £18m

If we sell for £40m with 50% sell on ... we get £20m

Unless it was structured properly you could end up selling for more and receiving less <laugh>

It's too early for this sort of stuff. Only half way through my first coffee!

could be like income tax - say 50% for every £1 over £40m, rather than 50% of everything once it’s over £40m :D. Too complicated for me.

Would be 50% of the additional 20, so 10. 28 total in that example

Just with his contract running down, he had rejected a contract offer, dunno how recent. I do think though it's probably because like everyone else, such as Cirkin and Neil, they're waiting on where we are.
Another view on Watson I’ve been thinking that may not be popular. Decent fee with sell on / add ons for Watson as it seems clear his agent is inviting approaches and has been for a while. Clarke in on loan and line up an investment for the summer.

Would rather get Watson's contract sorted once he's helped us sort this promotion business out.

Watson will end up a premier league player at a very decent club. Not entirely sure Clarke will.

Watson and Mundle with both be better players than Clarke.

And Clarke is a very good, and really ****ing poorly advised and represented player.

.... As things stand, Brighton’s valuation has not come close to reaching a level where the Sunderland hierarchy would feel compelled to assess their options. If that was to happen, though, and Watson was to leave before the transfer window closes on Monday night, Le Bris is adamant that a direct replacement would be required.

“If Tommy did leave, we have to replace him,” said the Black Cats head coach, whose side head to the Riverside on Monday night to take on Middlesbrough in the Tees-Wear derby. “We need two wingers on each flank, this is a better balance. Enzo (Le Fee) can play here, but only because we don't have others available at the moment.”

When Sunderland turned down Brighton’s initial offer in the summer, Watson was something of an unknown quantity given his lack of experience in the first team.

That is no longer the case, and while his injury prevented him from properly establishing himself as a regular in the senior ranks, Le Bris has no doubts over the extent of Watson’s potential.

“Tommy started a few games before his injury, so he was a new player in our team and he did well,” he said. “But it's always the case that when a new player starts, it's a new challenge.

“When you have to play ten, 15 games it is a different dynamic and a different challenge. He has started very, very well but to be a starter for a long period - this is different.

“We weren't able to assess this fully because of the injury. But there is no doubt that he has very good potential and is a very good player. And he fits very well into our style of play.

“We feed our wingers and support them in taking risks in one-on-one situations. If they fail, we say, ‘Try again’. His profile is very good for this, but he has only played a few games.”
I see Brighton are about to sell Valentin Barco for under 10 to Strasbourg.

That would be a player who would be magnificent pick up for us. Really strange sale.

Signed him ahead of half the world and loaned him out, was seen as a massive Argentina prospect and very young.

Coupd have been some coup for a club like us.
From what I have heard there's been some "issues" about him personally and the staff weren't keen.

Interesting. He’s been at Sevilla first half season and only played a few games there, so maybe something in that.
