Can Lincoln play left back?

No.

Plays mostly as a midfielder (centrally) but has played plenty of minutes on the wings left and right.

He’s left footed, so in theory could play there, although has no experience playing at left back..

Ok, so I'll change it to "there's only 1/3 of the season left. By the time we play our next game there will only be 11 weeks left. And, to the op, by the time Hughes is expected back there will only be 9 1/2 weeks and 13 games left to save ourselves from relegation (and it's an assumption that a) he is back when expected, b) he is match fit and stays available)".
Argue all you like about definitions, there isn't long left this season to turn it around. For what it's worth, I think we will, but I'm not getting overly confident, and I'd feel more confident if we strengthened at LB and at CB. It seems the club are coming round to that way of thinking too.

I wouldn’t be rushing Hughes back for the points you’ve mentioned and that we’ve only won one game when he’s has been on the pitch this season. Even if he’s fit, is he going to be confident and ready for a relegation scrap? I don’t think we can spare the game time to find out.

I can find no record of Lincoln ever playing left back at any club.

He played at left-back a few times in the 2022-23 season for Fenerbahçe before doing his ACL, in both a back four and back five. He was actually playing really well at left-back before his injury, apparently.

Plenty of time to get Omur and Sinik back to Turkiye.

When do we have declare our 25 man squad list though?

Theoretically it's shortly after our window closes. However I've never seen it actually published anywhere after the January window. It's always published on the EFL site after the summer window, but often with errors or omissions which make no sense, and those errors never seem to get updated during the year. For example, Belloumi wasn't on the list published for our squad back in September. And last year they missed off Philogene. But clearly both were actually eligible to play, so I suspect it's just an EFL admin issue that they don't update the lists on their website.

But in any case, it shouldn't be an issue for us. We'll probably have less than 25 senior players to name by the end of today (we currently have 27 at an absolute maximum) and there are a few we could leave off if we needed to.

I would've also liked a left-footed centre-half if we're getting one. Someone like Mike Eerdhuijzen at Sparta Rotterdam though I think he turned down Plymouth a few days ago after they had a bid accepted as he and his partner didn't want to leave the Netherlands.
