Off a cliff? Bit dramatic isn't it?Jacob is so inconsistent. Unfortunately his level seemed to drop off a cliff on Saturday

Are we really arguing about what is or isn't an acceptable definition of "a few weeks"?! Really? We're fighting for our Championship survival and entering the final 3rd of the season, 2/3rd's already gone.
I'd like to see a competent, experienced LB, who can defend well but also offers something going forward. A Connor Townsend would do nicely.
I'd ideally like us to also bring in another CB. Experienced, commanding, someone who dominates aerially and also offers some threat in the opposition box (because we don't currently have that).
We have more than enough options now elsewhere, other than keeper perhaps, should Panda get injured, but you can bring in emergency keeper loans I think?
OK?
Center back? Are they grid iron players?
He's not going to say "the players I have that can play LB are all ****" is he?!!
Of course he would strengthen at LB if he gets chance to. He knows there's limits to the support he can realistically get though, and it looks like he and Dublin believed there were greater priorities elsewhere (wide and upfront).
Regarding loan numbers and Burns. I don't see why it's a problem. If we had 6. it's highly unlikely he would be needing to use all 6 at the same time. It's contingency planning in what is a crisis. As we've seen, Burns for example stands down, as others could do if necessary due to a bigger need in another position.
It's in baz's last article.
"Having walked away from a move for Southampton's Charlie Taylor, Selles is happy to stick with what he's got on the left side of the back four, but bringing in cover can't be ruled out. The Tigers do have to be wary of the fact they have five loan players already in their squad, and any more would leave Selles with a decision he doesn't want to know.
"
Ok, so I'll change it to "there's only 1/3 of the season left. By the time we play our next game there will only be 11 weeks left. And, to the op, by the time Hughes is expected back there will only be 9 1/2 weeks and 13 games left to save ourselves from relegation (and it's an assumption that a) he is back when expected, b) he is match fit and stays available)".When there's three months left of the season, yes.
Are we happy with our right backs?I doubt that.
Are we happy with our right backs?
His age is partly irrelevant if he’s only manage about 20 championship games ( not sure how many he's played full time didn’t look) To be honest I am always surprised at how many younger players get to the first team with some persistent failings in ability that fans see - HT2 may know - I would guess much of training is team focused and not an individual development thing ?We've done this to death but Jacob is 23-years-old and he still makes the same defensive mistakes a 17-year-old would. Nobody can fault his attitude but his positioning is really suspect. I'd keep him around as second-choice left-back but we can't rely on him as first-choice.

Don't think that's true.He does come under disproportionate scrutiny though. When he makes a mistake he's written off as not good enough, same with Coyle. A player who isn't local and hasn't played for us in League 1 has to make many more mistakes before people start saying things like that. Drameh had to make half a season's worth of mistakes before anyone but me would acknowledge it, and his are still downplayed compared to when Jacob makes one. They were both poor on Saturday but people just want to pile on Jacob.
Brandon Williams it is then?
Don't suppose he is but in a Jan window most clubs are looking for players who can hit the ground running, doubt he can do that. Don't think he deserves to be blackballed permanently. Ought to go non-league for a bit, see if he's still got it.Surely someone will take a punt on him.
Is he beyond redemption?

that's fair, and there's a big if in there as links may be bullshit, but if it's true....it does seem to be on brand for how he likes to work during the transfer windows which is why we've ended up with a few last minute surprise but maybe unnecessary signingsHow do you know that it's Acun chasing Danns "like a kid in a candy shop"? How do you know it's not Dublin, Selles, the brains team? Yes, he could say no, enough, and maybe has / maybe will. They've probably got a general brief from him that if someone special pops up then let's look at it (that much has already been said, so hardly speculating). As good a prospect as he may be, I don't see this Danns as fitting that description.
