I think so too. If a bid comes in and it’s more than what we paid, we’ll sell. Don’t think the club will want to make the same mistake with Giles by prolonging the inevitable. If he feels he can do better than us and doesn’t want to play for us next season regardless of the division, we’ll sell.
Do you think he’s worth more than we’ve paid, I like him but I’m not sure we’ve seen enough to suggest he’s worth more
I think a certain amount is down to playing in a struggling side and that applies to a few of our better players.
I think he is. Don't know if people forget but he's only 21. He's only played 64 games in a league at full level and 30 of them Columbia. He's joined a fast and physical league and certainly not been out of place as he acclimatises and has shown signs of been a very good player. He's been inconsistent at times in an inconsistent team battling relegation. The potential for growth is high, I would say at the very least he will become a good championship player.
I don't doubt his potential, he could be worth 3m or more in future, but I'm just not seeing a 3m player in the here and now, and I would doubt he'll be moving on at a profit before September. He might move on at a loss though if we find ourselves in league 1 and are forced into a firesale.
Yeh I suppose thats my point. The potential counts in the valuation, and the expectation he's a 3m player right now, everytime he's on the pitch is perhaps a bit unrealistic for a player of his age and experience. Jobe Bellingham wasn't a 5m player when Sunderland signed him and whoever pays the next crazy fee for him wont be getting a player that performs at that value for some time either. There's an argument for whether thats how we should be investing 3m at the moment but I still think the fee is about right. *I just fact checked myself, Sunderland didn't pay 5m for Jobe Bellingham
