Wonder if Conor Townsend will be available. Ipswich about to sign a young left back from Chelsea, who they plan on involving in the squad this season and he’s already behind Davis.

He’s not good enough, that’s why Steve Bruce never gave him a chance and allowed him to leave in the first place.

The Danna rumours, if true, are what annoys me about acun....we've had a strong window, corrected mistakes of the summer then like a kid in a candy shop he's after an extra player in a position we now have enough options.....doesn't seem to know when to leave it be
How do you know that it's Acun chasing Danns "like a kid in a candy shop"? How do you know it's not Dublin, Selles, the brains team? Yes, he could say no, enough, and maybe has / maybe will. They've probably got a general brief from him that if someone special pops up then let's look at it (that much has already been said, so hardly speculating). As good a prospect as he may be, I don't see this Danns as fitting that description.

I'd like that. Townsend is a proper childhood City fan and it seems wrong if he spends his whole career at a similar level to us but without playing for us.

?? There's three months.
Yeah, that's 13 weeks. And to the point, single figures by the time Hughes is up to speed, and who experience to date suggests we can't really rely on injury/fitness wise. That's not many ("only a few") weeks.
Anyway, a LB first.

It's a good shout. A good solid proper full back, plus, being a local lad, he'd likely be well up for the fight were he to come.
Again, can't help but think we should have just kept Elder all this time.

My thought is that Acun and the manager are prepared to do anything to ensure staying in this division so extra bodies who’may’ just perform better than the existing are a worthwhile gamble if affordable . We cannot afford for the two young lads to take 2 months or so to get up to speed .
As for Townsend I think he is the perfect solid experienced left back we could do with .

he's a centre back right?

im no expert obviously, but it does feel like we are making too many singings for january.. how are they meant to all be in sync

i guess it does give credit to burns gone?

Burns seemed to be watching training with Millar midweek so probably injured

If Burns is going then fair enough. Otherwise just get a solid left back in and be done with the window.

In EA Sports FC 25, both John Egan and Sean McLoughlin are rated as center backs, with Egan having a higher overall rating and pace compared to McLoughlin.
