Anyone suggesting you will do a "Derby" a "Watford" or a "Sunderland" in terms of gaining a very low points total is well wide of the mark. Certainly in the cases of Derby and Watford they simply were not ready in any way shape or form for promotion to the PL at the time. (Can't remember what happened with Sunderland - maybe they were just crap!) Realistically you are with us in a mini league of 8 or 9 teams who will all be looking to pick enough points up off each other - WBA, QPR, Palace, Swansea, Sunderland, Burnley, West Ham (and possibly Southampton) - to survive. It might all come down to who Square Head can bring in not only this window but crucially in January. Long and Jelavic came in last January for us and their 9 goals between them was really what kept us clear of danger. There will be stages of the season where you find points hard to come by but if you keep your points total just ahead of the number of games you have played you might just steer clear of the bottom 3. However all of this you are/ aren't good enough for the Premier League is just bluster and none of us will know until the season gets going and we see how you perform.
The thing is, you weren't that much better than Burnley points-wise were you? And I can see the Vings partnership troubling more defences than Nugent and Vardy (even with Ulloa). Like it or not, QPR really underperformed last season. To think you're a dead cert to finish above a side that may well have added Remy, Taarabt, Caulker, Isla, Faurlin, M.Phillips (effectively); amongst others, to it's ranks is naïve imo. I saw loads of Leicester games last season. Up until the QPR game at Loftus Road, you were just an averagely decent side. Scraping past us gave you the impetus to then go on that once-in-a-lifetime run of fantastic results. You won't get many penalties this year either- in fact the boot will be on the other foot, as you'll be considered a "minnow" by refs. The tricky start is the clincher for me. Your squad will feel on the top of the world still, as if they're unbeatable. A poor opening month will quickly deflate that bubble, and they'll be riddled with self-doubt for the rest of the season. If Leicester make 2/3 more truly quality additions I may well revise that judgement- but as things stand you're in danger.
Grifter you squads still **** with your signings. Pulling Rio Ferdinand out the retirement home and signing a defender from a relegated club doesnt change that. And having your misfits back They was the ones who took you down. Last year we took 10 points off you and Burnley and never looked like being over taken. Our strikeforce will outscore yours i bet my bottom dollar on it. Your clubs has this incredible delusion around it that your a big club. You pay massive amounts to over the hill players and misfits because thats the only way your clubs vision works. Bottom line is its hasnt, isnt and wont work. But enjoy the excitement whilst you can
Yes DQPR underperformed last season. And the one before that. And arguably the one before that. When does it stop becoming "under-performing", and just honestly realising you aren't very good?
You mean the season you survived? You can't compare the QPR side of 2011 to our team of last season. You were dreadful and bullied your way to 1-0 wins. That's not enough in the Prem. We have attributes that are good in any division - speed, skill and team spirit. It takes a special team to get over 100 points and that can never be a negative thing.
Sorry Buddy but your list of names does not inspire ... Remy is top drawer (if he stays) but is likely to have his customary third to half a season out injured ... Taraabt has to date been little more than a one trick show pony at Prem level and the rest? ... arguably wouldn't get into any other Prem side ... Caulker did OK at Swansea and then got relegated at Cardiff ... hardly set the Prem alight ... and as for penalties? ... pace draws penalties in any division ... we have it in abundance ... especially when we come up against ageing defenders
How can you over achieve over 46 games anyway? QPR are full of over the hull misfits looking for a final payday. That's why they are continually crap. Even the bloody manager is over the hill on his final payday. He is now signing his mates up and throwing his Monopoly money around again
The funniest thing about this post is the first bit, wumming aside! It's al you ever do and not very well, you never have and never will put a genuine post on this board so excuse us for not being interest in anything you say
Hate to break it to you Grifter but... -Remy's last season with QPR - Relegated. -Taarabt's last season with QPR, also half a season with Fulham - Relegated. - Caulker's last Premier League season - Relegated. -Faurlin's last Premier League season - Relegated. - Matt Phillips' last Premier League season - Relegated.
I only ask 1 simple ****ing Q, I really didn´t think it was going to be the 1st tread where we get inundated with **** loads of Hull fans talking poo. I do believe the poll it´s self has been good, but some of those comments... city or what. Any way it makes a change me posting a thread & getting more than 2 comments (me usually being 1 of them) so maybe it is time to wrap it up mods. Feel free to lock it if you wish. "UTF"
I do have to chuckle at some of the QPR lot that come on here....They speak as though they are a massive club from the smoke with a fan base on a par with Arsenal, Chelsea & Spurs when in reality they are as big as Brentford but smaller than Leyton Orient, if they are honest. I mean seriously c'mon guys you have to take this Bulls**t with a pinch of salt. They have a past it stadia that holds about 15,000, a past it manager, that has had the push more times than a Asda shopping trolley & a team of "Journeymen" players that Beckford would be proud of ! They just scraped into the play-off's then into the Prem only just beating a very faultering Direby County ffs ! but they did it so fair play,as you can only beat what's put in front of you. Just wish they would stop bigging themselves up ! QPR = Legoland LCFC = Alton Towers (keeping comparisons with kids theme parks to make it easier for Grifter to understand !) Fact is nobody knows how the mini league teams will fair until 10-12 games have been played ! Finally to answer the question I think we will finish between 10th & 13th !
He was a free agent, we didn't pay anything for him, there will be a tribunal fee due to his age, but it certainly isn't going to be anywhere near £8m. The current record for a tribunal fee is £3.5m for Sturridge moving between two of the biggest clubs in the country, it won't be that much and whatever it is, the £1.5m loan fee that Palace paid last season gets knocked off it.
