I did not suggest that and you know it, I suggested some of the crowd pull their weight to improve the atmosphere than others and that those people who don't pull their weight could serve their club better. A lot better.

I'd go further than saying some peoples support are more valuable than others. I'd go as far to say that some are detrimental to the club. An empty seat is more valuable then say a fan who complains more than encourages the team in my mind. There's a fan who complains around me in the south stand. He gets nasty looks as when I'm in other parts of the ground, I've had nasty looks for encouraging the team. Knowing I could get a season card this season I obtained tickets in a different part of the ground the season before. 11 league and cup games I attended at the SoL last season and the south stand is the only part of the ground where my support was looked down on by miserable moaning people. Just the way I feel from my experience at the match. I think there's fans who would encourage more if only it was deemed acceptable by all the doom mongers. 8 seasons in the top flight. The poor attitude from some sections of our support which stifles the atmosphere round them just isn't justified. The club deserves better in my opinion.
You actually said that there are 35000 supporters who are the worst thing to happen to the Club, this after slagging off those who, unlike yourself presumably, prefer to watch the game without feeling the need to constantly be making themselves heard. I appreciate fully that some people enjoy being vocal and have no problem with that at all. But that does not make the not so vocal less valuable in the least. You could of course ask the Club itself if they would rather this 35000 did not turn up, and see what sort of answer you get. I somehow think you'll find the Club much prefer the way it is now than playing in front of just 7000, no matter how fanatical they may be. Enjoy the match the way you prefer, and if that includes making a noise then fill your boots, but let others enjoy it their way too and show some respect for every supporter without trying to force your mentality onto others

So, do you think that booing players makes them play better or not?

It's a simple question that even you should be able to understand <doh>

I suppose the thought process is, if you voice displeasure, they will up their game to silence the boos. The problem is, does the person you are booing really give a damn? In most footballers case, I'd say that, that would be a resounding no!

Hand on, all I'm saying is if players are ****, couldn't be ass to run then they derserve to get stick.

I agree with you! If I'm at work, make a mistake or get lazy, receive a bollocking from my boss, then that gets me working harder in case i get the sack! However alot of footballers dont have that incentive cos they will always be in a job! I feel that booing the majority of footballers makes no difference whatsoever cos they can just shrug their shoulders and walk away from the ground with their 60 grand per week! There is probably a minority of footballers who will respond to some supporters stick, unfortunately! This is why my passion towards football in general has numbed a little over the past decade! My team, and other teams, being represented by mercenaries! Only in football could that be the case and still pull in the crowds! I've said in the past that if football was politics then there would have been a revolution by now and alot of players would have had the guillotine at the hands of the supporters!

Hardly the same thing mate, Poyet wasn't booing his players.

If your boss bollocked you in front of everyone, and they all booed you, I'd expect you to look elsewhere to work.

Any boss who could do that isn't worth working for is he?

Just had a good chuckle at the thought of that actually happening! All of my colleagues surrounding my desk and giving me a good booing! I think i'd burst out crying! I see your point! haha! Surely though the supporters are the boss and the only way to give them a bollocking or show their displeasure is to boo, especially when they are not pulling their weight! I agree that some supporters are far to quick to boo their own players, but there must be a point when it is totally acceptable?

I just think it's destructive.

Unless the players are completely stupid they'll realise that losing at home, without troubling the keeper, isn't acceptable.

I've never once seen booing positively influence the game in 40 years of watching.

It should make them play better but it doesn't. If I don't see anything coming from our player then sorry I will start booeing the ****. let's all sit & sing there names & do **** all about it.
