I don't give a ****, like I been banging on about, if the ****s don't try or play with some passion then I will let my mouth go. go sing for the players what don't give a ****.
Ok, I can agree on that. So let's recognize the problem - the football being purveyed at present is sh*te, and it is the responsibility of those gathering wages for the purpose to correct that problem. If they'll kindly get on with that, I'll be amazed if you don't get the atmosphere you require.
Nah, still didn't understand a word of that ......... I may need further evidence but, at this stage, I believe you're an idiot
I'm sure that there would be a better atmosphere if we were playing great football as it is easy to support a winning team. However, it takes effort and commitment to support a team that is struggling, but that is when a team needs support the most..
No, it is not easy to graft five days a week to pay your entrance fee. It takes effort and commitment for the players to justify that. The guy in the stands has already done his shift just to get there. I'm sorry but the buck stops with the guy who accepts the wages, and there is not, and never can be, any other way of looking at it.
I can't agree with that. The players can always leave and avoid the problem ...... we can't. Therefore it's up to us to make a difference.
In your opinion maybe, but not in mine...I have supported this club long before any of the current crop of players were even thought of, and I will hopefully still be still supporting the club long after they have gone..Sunderland AFC is part of me and I am part of Sunderland AFC, and for that reason I will back them through thick and thin..
I think, and hope, you speak for many people on here whether they post or not. Whenever I'm debating about making that extra effort to go to a match I think of people like you. I've just organised Swansea away and hoping to meet up with decent lads who'll support their team/club/history/fellow supporters. Being part of 'the family' is wonderful. If you're not part of it I can understand why it's impossible to understand. I feel sorry for people who don't get it but abso-fkn-lutely love being me.
Like somebody stated earlier in the thread I also find myself nodding in agreement with both sides of the argument! Maybe the supporters at the ground should make a little more noise. Maybe the players should perform and try that little bit harder! If so then maybe they will both meet in the middle and the problem would be solved! Obviously though we have problems playing at home! Have done for 3 seasons now! The lack of noise may be part of the reason but the main reason is the poor brand of football. I mean how many times over the past season or two can you genuinly say that we have dominated and deserved a win? Not many!
No, you are NOT part of Sunderland AFC until you either acquire a place on the Board or are employed by them. Smug in Boots said something similar earlier on (one of the most inane comments I've ever read on here) - "we are the club.". I just hope you and Boots will think a bit about that. If you are the club how come Ellis Short doesn't sell you?!!! Diddles address sums this topic up best : "He was a thinker, a dreamer, a speculative philosopher ... or ..." I admire your idealism, but your argument doesn't add up. William Wilberforce would turn in his grave. The reality is you're no more part of the club than I am a part of Take That for attending one of their concerts.
Totally disagree mate...If you think that being part of something is solely reliant on having financial investment, then I feel sorry for you..
Why can't we expect fans and the players to both give 100%? We can't control the players but we can give it it all on our end. This 'they're not so why should we' attitude never works on any level. If the players are holding the same sentiment then this club has grave problems and we'd deserve everything we get
And neither does shouting the loudest about something mean you are more part of it than anyone well, it doesn't make you better than anyone else.
Got nowt to do with shares in the club. We invest our money, time, passion, etc and that makes it more ours than owning the whole of the issued share capital of the company IMHO. There'd be no club anywhere without fans.
