Anyway, I'll let you guys carry on this debate, laters <whistle>

Try and check out that series on Reconstruction I droned on about. I genuinely do value your opinion, even though you think I'm a ****. <cool>

Edit - that goes for all of you, even though you all think I'm a ****. Do your homework.

But I'm not chatting about Nixon. I'm highlighting the differences in the person at the forefront of wanting to bring action against Trump....that being Pelosi, the very same woman, who said impeachement against a liar George Bush was off the table. That decision affected the World, Trump merely screwed the US.
Trump took a **** on his own doorstep and the people that matter trod in it, and walked it all around the house.Bush didn't, he took a **** on other countries and nobody that mattered trod in it.

Exactly my point! Nobody else in the world matters apart from Americans. Which is where Fosse also missed the point in his response, since when did people care about the great American constitution. It's all bolloxs, by people who want to be offended, but only when it fits their narratives.

Americans cannot be nasty to other Americans....but if they blow the shhite out of other places, based on lies and bring trouble to Europes doorstep, that don't matter. I get it guys. <applause>

You could switch America with any country and the same would be true tbh, Blair isn't in jail, and he was one of the main men when it came to misleading the world on Iraq's WMDs.

I agree with you, especially on Blair.

Footie on now, more important than world peace <ok>

I think the answer is quite straight forward... it's risk management... a successful impeachment stops Trump standing for public office ever again ... he represents the 'clear and present danger' to the American constitution, at this time; other former presidents do not.

Since when did we start caring about the American constitution on here. I disagree about former presidents not presenting a clear and present danger. They still have a voice, they are still present and rubbing shoulders with the likes of Biden, evident at the inauguration. Trump has no influence in that fold. We showed them in Iraq eh Tony, yes George, we need to get the troops back out there though, that's ok Tony, Joe's a good sort, I'm working on him.

Most US citizens couldn’t point to Nicaragua or Chile on a map, never mind Iraq, Syria or Afghanistan. So realistically, the chances of a US President getting held to account for abusing international law in those places is zero.

Biden could declare war on the Czech Republic, and most people in the States would assume he probably meant Cuba, and not be all that bothered. When the Rule of Law is blatantly abused in Washington though, it gets taken a bit more seriously.

Tgat may not be right, but that’s how it is. Don’t expect the UN to stand up to the US either - their headquarters are in New York for a start

Then we will have to disagree ... one thing for sure... non of the others incited an internal insurrection and attempted to derail a presidential inauguration ... so really no comparison on the clear and present barometer ... as others have said, a huge proportion of yanks don't give a flying about the rest of the world but no other country has as many national flags flying on the home porch ...

You contradict yourself, it was me that was claiming how the American constitution was rotten at the core, and I gave Bush and Pelosi as clear examples. I've even said it's correct that Trump should be impeached. My expressed thoughts were maybe we should be looking closer at the chair of the house on Capitol Hill. But Trump....but Boris....you're so fooking bias, you wouldn't smell the truth if it smacked you in the face.
