For who? Sinn Fein obviously but not the others. You really do not know what you are talking about on this issue. There is no real appetite in Dublin for a united Ireland.

I disagree completely, they obviously know it is not easy until NI votes for it. The EU has done its best to help hive off NI from the rest of the UK without any success.

I would have no problem losing NI if that was their democratic decision.

If you are as out of touch as much as your fellow civil servants negotiating Brexit I can understand your comments.

Not simply advisory when the UK government announced beforehand it would implement the result. It became government policy which remains today.
"Announced" not legislate. In the eyes of the law advisory. Whatever, cameron kowtowed to the extremists, didn't put any safeguards in to avoid this pathetic horror show...and now Parliament are faced with the unenviable task of saving the people from themselves in the face of the lies spun by the right wing media and the likes of the chancers such as smogggit, bojo and their ilk.

It was a legal policy by the elected government of the day. It was the government's prerogative to decide policy, the voters were told well before the referendum the result would be honoured.

Well not much honouring evident is there.. The whole thing is a poisoned chalice. And I and anyone has the undeniable right to campaign against it. There is no doubt in that. Basic human right... Whether law or whatever it makes no difference..

There is no charge for whinging although it changes nothing.

How am I out of touch? You have gone from it being a priority to a long term goal and now something they hope to achieve.
I hope you don't reverse as much in your car as you do with your political viewpoints. Poor Mrs SH would think you were taking her to Newquay and end up in Middlesborough.

I promised her Brittany once and we ended up in the Vendee, she has never let me forget it. :emoticon-0107-sweat

Hopefully Brittany this year if the French customs are not on industrial action again.

Interesting that when people support what you don't believe in they are whinging.. You are the most self centred negative person I engage with.. Shame you can't live in a more enjoyable way..

I can assure you I live a great life, I just think beads, kaftans and love-ins belong in the past :emoticon-0105-wink:

Now what about buying some Tory raffle tickets? The money is going to a good cause, keeping the Marx twins out of office.

Yesterday I was talking to two friends who work at the university in Poitiers. They are both involved in joint research projects with universities in the UK, and because of the current confusion have no idea just how long these projects will be funded and by whom. The researchers in the UK can get no answers from government about future funding. It might last for two years, but no one will say for sure. The EU have indicated that as it is medical research they may move all of their funding to Poitiers, but they cannot make any final decision until they know if the UK has come to a decision about what will happen. Of course all those who voted to leave did so in the full knowledge that something that might one day save their life was going to be put in danger.

You are scraping the barrel suggesting the UK will not continue funding research at our universities. After Brexit when we are not subsidising much of Europe there will be extra finance available to go towards good causes.

No SH! These are people who know exactly what is going on, not someone who has no current knowledge of just how interconnected foreign and UK universities are, how they are funded, and how people on research projects move around currently. Maybe you should go to one of our university cities and speak to a few people, and you might stop coming out with this silly nonsense.

It is within the capability of government ministers to arrange sufficient finance for future projects such as research. You speaking to remainer minions that work in these establishments is no clue to any future funding. Your negativity has no bounds. You also shouldn't listen to gossip in the bread shop.

When you find out a bit more, it might be worth discussion. You proved last week that you had absolutely no understanding about the issues in Ireland, and now you are at it again.

As you are somebody that has somehow managed to get every prediction wrong it is so funny you keep making these negative statements. Just because some terrified ex-pat hears some gossip it does not make it true. Surely you can find something positive to do?

Who said that I had been talking to ex-pats? You really shouldn't jump to conclusions.
