My personal take on this is that things were said between Moyes and Rooney at the time when the latter made it clear that he wanted to force a leave from Everton to United that now make it impossible (in Rooney's mind) to permit him to work under Moyes.

You could be right on this, there is also the court case between the two which can`t be easy to forget. There is no way Moyes is going to say Rooney is for sale, he will want to get the best price for him which won`t be easy after the last years performance and attitude.

So anyway, getting back on topic. I think Rooney is finished at Utd. Moyes the Bartender might be saying he's not for sale, but I think if the right offer comes in, he'll be off. Can't see us buying him (seems were playing hardball with Liverpool / Real over the Suarez / Higuian deals) But I can see Chelsea coming in with an offer for him.

ps - haig, nobody could ever show themselves up as much as you have done on this forum. It's a wonder you're not banned from every board but the spuds one.

Rooney will only leave for money and trophy`s, you don`t have to worry about him going to Arsenal!

Why are you trying to disrupt this board by attempting to get people banned ? This isn't even your board. You've been banned from this one before as well as the Liverpool, Arsenal and Utd board.

Doesn't that tell you something ?

I'm going to leave you to it HIAG, I know you for what you are, and I suspect that most on here to do. If the Chelsea mods want to allow you to continue to disrupt their board again, despite giving you another chance, then that's for them to decide <ok>

Did you blush when typing those?

Agree 100, terrible comment from Moyes.

Provided Cavani/Lewandowski/Suarez go to other clubs I think Rooney would be the next best bet for us, he's a goal machine when up top.

I just can't see United selling to us. They know we are a threat and won't risk Rooney hitting form with us. Still has a lot to offer though and would work perfect in the 'Drogba' role with the likes of Mata, Hazard, Oscar, Schurle off him. He wont get that role at United now, that is evident.

Wonder though if Fabregas went to United whether that would change things?

Understandably Rooney is pissed off with Moyes. Going to go stick a ton on him joining us <whistle>

Not a bad shout, though however much we offer, I still doubt United's willingness to sell to us. However with Cavani finally settling the PSG move we are his only destination for a move, and they could be forced into letting it happen. Either way, I think De Rossi is more exciting as transfers go.

I see Sky are linking all the top 4 clubs with Fabregas now. Good player but maybe not what we need given he tends to play further forward since leaving the gooners.

With Xavi and Sergio Busquets in the squad he was always going to play further forward. Sky source said 35m would convince Barca to sell, but with Thiago out the door it is less unlikely in my opinion. But I said it before and I say it now, Fabregas as part of central midfield two or three would suit us perfectly. He can pass and score goals, granted his tackling is not much but hey, we cant have everything

Is Higuain any good? A 20 goal a season striker?

For 24/25m he is good enough, not an all round player but a guaranteed goal poacher, lets not forget he has been banging them in whilst sharing one strikers role with Karim Benzema and with no penalties due to Ronaldo. I would sign him but I reckon it is Rooney or Suarez for us

Rooney thing is getting interesting. Can't see how it can carry on. It seems he fell out with Fergie and obviously has previous with Moyes (plus the back up to RVP comment).

Can't see United risking strengthening a rival but then again, there doesn't seem to be anywhere left for Rooney to go save for perhaps Arsenal.

I wonder if United got Fabregas they'd let Rooney leave?

If they can find an adequate replacement then I think they'd let us have him, don't see that replacement being Fabregas though. Bale?

Bale not going to happen IMO. The money Bale would cost, United just don't spend. Bale will have another 1-2 years at Spurs and if he keeps his level up, will probably replace Ronaldo at Real, perhaps with Ronaldo heading back to United (more likely some cash rich club like Monaco though!!)

Whilst Fabregas and Rooney are different players, they are both attack minded players so depending on the system Moyes adopts, I could see Fabregas off RVP working well. They obviously know each other from Arsenal too. They then have the likes of Hernandez, Welbeck, Nani, Kagawa etc as back up.

Still have a feeling Rooney will be forced to stay though.
