There's a Dutch poster on here called Cove who posts threads about all of the top players over there every so often. This was his opinion when he was asked about him on our board:

Haven't seen him play myself though, so I've no idea if it's accurate.

Jokes aside, is there anyone left worth going for now or do we bring back Lukaku and have him, Torres and Ba for next year?

Gomes I think could be worth a shout but he looks likely to go to Italy.

 

Definitely a shortage of available top strikers now.

If Lewandowski is leaving why do Dortmund want to keep him another year? We could loan him for the year at least.

For me out of them I would be tempted with Suarez, Rooney and Benteke, although the first two have their own problems whilst Benteke may be too similar to Lukaku. I think Hernandez could be a great signing for us, to poach all the goals from the chances our creators make.

Jose likes to lead the line with a big powerful striker. I don't see several of the above fitting in to that mold.

Jovetic would be my choice but it's almost done and dusted to Juve and he's not the best fit either.

 

Then they'd lose the benefit of him for that year!

Still think it's worth a bid. 25 million and they'd probably accept it and then we try to see if we can turn the player's head. Not going to happen though clearly. Even Dzeko looks unlikely now given City's relative shortage of forwards post Balatelli and Tevez.

Can see us getting a keeper in and maybe sticking with what we have.

 

See we're being linked with Benteke. Not feeling that one myself. Might as well give Lukaku a chance.

 

You are quite right, given the money you paid for Lukaku.

Mark Schwarzer singing is very interesting. Sound piece of business for both club and player. He is a very capable backup for Cech.

 

Schwarzer seems a sensible stop gap for a year until Courtois joins next year. Good move all round.
