There's a Dutch poster on here called Cove who posts threads about all of the top players over there every so often. This was his opinion when he was asked about him on our board:

To be honest, I don't see it yet, it's hype in my opinion. The guy has good technique and good tactical vision but his speed, physique and overall quality is not really eye catching. Really can't see why people are so fussed about him. Though he is 21 and he is showing good development, there are better midfielders in the Eredivisie like Clasie, De Jong, Strootman and Maher. He is in the same league as Toornstra, Wijnaldum, Fer and Kirm: needs a lot more experience and progress to get to the Eredivisie top.

Haven't seen him play myself though, so I've no idea if it's accurate.

Just noticed that he's been on here before: http://www.not606.com/showthread.ph...ports-Vitesse-accepts-7-25m-bid-on-Van-Ginkel

Cheers PNP! I would look at a YouTube video but what does that really tell you about a player?

Very, very little. Some of the people that post clips on there need to go into advertising. They can make anyone look good.

From Cove's description he sounds about the level of James McCarthy - in that case a decent signing, but seems a little pricey...

Hearing rumours of a 34m deal for Luis Suarez

Has to be absolute nonsense, dont think Ivan would like it

Very excited about Schurrle, just hope it doesn't involve KDB going elsewhere because of it!

A lot of this depends on Jose's choice of formation, but here goes. My shopping list would be:

GK - With Turnbull and Hilarious ****ing off we need adequate competition for Cech. Courtois should be kept at Madrid where he's getting better every game so someone with experience would be good. Cesar or Given would do me!

CB - not a clue who <laugh>. DL suggested Lovren from Lyon who may not be too much.

LB - I'd love to secure a purchase of Luke Shaw and loan him back to Southampton for a season.

CM - I think we need to replace Malouda and Benayoun with quality and not like for like position wise. I'd go for Gundogan IF we are actually going to sell De Bruyne.

ST - One of Cavani, Lewandowski r Rooney. We need a world class striker to challenge for titles and all three of those are IMO. First choice would be Lewandowski for me as I think he's be cheapest. As you've said previously 100, surely Dortmund would rather sell to us than Bayern!

Now for players going out. We all know who is and who we'd like to. But key area is the ST position. Personally I'd like Torres or Ba gone, preferably Torres, and one of said strikers in. Lukaku as rotation 2nd choice and Ba for the cup games.

Aside from that I hear Monaco are after Ivan for 20 odd million. I would snatch their paws off.

Good stuff mate, agree about Ivan and your sentiments about replacements for Malouda & Yossi Gonna be interesting this time around, that's for sure!

Falcao to Monaco
Rooney staying
Lewandowski staying (Bayern in a year)
Cavani to PSG
Neymar to Barca
even Higuain to Arsenal, Solgado to City and Villa to Spurs.

Guess we'll be sticking with Torres then!!

Jokes aside, is there anyone left worth going for now or do we bring back Lukaku and have him, Torres and Ba for next year?

Gomes I think could be worth a shout but he looks likely to go to Italy.

Definitely a shortage of available top strikers now.

If Lewandowski is leaving why do Dortmund want to keep him another year? We could loan him for the year at least.

List of decent forwards left, (IMHO)

Luis Suarez (35m)
Gonzalo Higuain (25m)
Wayne Rooney (25m)
Burak Yilmaz (18m)
Alvaro Negredo (22m)
Roberto Soldado (20m)
Christian Benteke (22m)
Jackson Martinez (20m)
Stephan El Sharaawy (20m)
Javier Hernandez (15-20m)
Stevan Jovetic (24m)
Edin Dzeko (15m)
Wilfried Bony (14m, off to Swansea by the looks of things)
David Villa (15m, with age against him)

For me out of them I would be tempted with Suarez, Rooney and Benteke, although the first two have their own problems whilst Benteke may be too similar to Lukaku. I think Hernandez could be a great signing for us, to poach all the goals from the chances our creators make.

Luis Suarez (35m) Not a Jose style striker
Gonzalo Higuain (25m) Will not play for Jose
Wayne Rooney (25m) Not a Jose style striker and scouse
Burak Yilmaz (18m) Maybe
Alvaro Negredo (22m) Good player
Roberto Soldado (20m) Not a Jose style striker
Christian Benteke (22m) One season wonder?
Jackson Martinez (20m) Maybe
Stephan El Sharaawy (20m) Milan are keeping him but not good enough imo
Javier Hernandez (15-20m) The least Jose style striker on the list
Stevan Jovetic (24m) My preference
Edin Dzeko (15m) No thanks
Wilfried Bony (14m, off to Swansea by the looks of things)
David Villa (15m, with age against him)

Jose likes to lead the line with a big powerful striker. I don't see several of the above fitting in to that mold.

Jovetic would be my choice but it's almost done and dusted to Juve and he's not the best fit either.

Then they'd lose the benefit of him for that year!

Still think it's worth a bid. 25 million and they'd probably accept it and then we try to see if we can turn the player's head. Not going to happen though clearly. Even Dzeko looks unlikely now given City's relative shortage of forwards post Balatelli and Tevez.

Can see us getting a keeper in and maybe sticking with what we have.

he want's to go to Bayern, but he is staying another season to run his contract out so he can join them as Dortmund don't want to sell him to them

Romeu off to Valencia on loan.

So that's Malouda, Marin, Benayoun, Romeu, Ferreira, Hilario and Turnbull from last years squad gone and Schurrle, Van Ginkel, Kalas, Schwarzer, De Bruyne and Lukaku in

Rumours persist of Mikel, Ba and Torres possibly leaving

I also think Luiz and Mata are going nowhere

I hope we wrap up this de Rossi this week, love it if we got him and Rooney.
