Arsenal have passed on Fabregas: www.bbc.com/sport/football/27720171 - I believe it as it's BBC. While certain members will be happy, this is a huge mistake. The one thing Ozil needs is another stellar player in the team to take the pressure off him. As Arsenal don't look like signing a top draw striker (where was the bid for Costa??) Fab would have been a great alternative giving strength in depth and tactical variation aplenty. Passing on Fab makes no sense unless he's planning to go somewhere other than England and represents a huge gamble by Wenger. Gutted.
Could it not just mean we passed on the opportunity to buy Cesc back for 35 million, but it doesn't mean we still can't buy him back for less if that makes sense.

Arsenal have approached several clubs with the intention of signing on players. Stéphane Sessègnon now a target. #bbcsportsday #afc
I think people underestimate how big an impact Fabregas will have at Chelsea or United.
In my opinion Mourinho's Chelsea with Fabregas would match our squad for creativity while being a) tactically superior and b) defensively superior.
He's an Arsenal legend and still hitting his peak.
Winning trophies is about being competitive both on the pitch and in the transfer market. I'm not sure our Club knows how to do this anymore.
I won't be suprised if we pass on this deal and end up signing subpar French players (Loic Remy)
It's a telling transfer window. We know for a fact Wenger has money is he even capable of using it competitively these days?.. I guess we will soon find out.

We're getting Remy, Willams and a RB, most likely Aurier. That'll be it. I'm slowly preparing myself for this to be the case on transfer deadline day so I don't slit my wrists. It's certainly not something I could deal with in one day![]()

BREAKING: RVP breaks own back trying to suck himself off. #bbcsportsday #bizarresexinjury
It better be an indication that we are keeping the money to sign quality players in other areas, which I far prefer. However if we pass on him and sign average players I will be livid. It hurts us twice over and if he joins a direct rival thrice over. This better mean Benzema, Bender, Di Maria, Reus are the level of names the board is bandying about and not Remy, Williams.
I can't believe we are going to sign World class players its just not Wengers StyleIt just seems unlikely to me that our Club is capable (or willing?) of bringing in multiple World Class players. (which is what we will need if Chelsea and United land their targets)
Higuain, Mata, Hazard, Suarez, Bender, Gotze are ALL recent examples of top players we have gone for and failed to sign. We seem to bumble through negotiations and play hardball on prices which should be negotiable. I have no faith in Gazidis so the possibility of having first refusal on one of the best players around seems like an idea we should be taking advantage of.
We have an advantage with Cesc financially and emotionally. Admittedly it's not the position we need to strengthen in the most but a player of his quality instantly pushes the team up a level.
