Huddlestone would be an amazing signing for us. We need someone who excels at passing the ball.

Not had anyone that good since the days of Gary Parker in the 80's.

Anybody who believes we'd have a cat in hell's chance of getting Tom Huddlestone needs to up their medication!

I just cannot see his agent contemplating allowing his client to move so far down the "Ruin-Your-CV" pecking order to permit him to consider coming to Hull.

Unless the balance of power has shifted it is the agent that does what the player wants btw. If Tom Huddleton wants to come to us his agent will have to do what he is told.

Huddlestone was very close to joining Stoke so not that much better than Sunderland at all, very good player, but not big club will take a risk on him due to injuries and having played very little over past few years despite having some quality we just haven't seen enough of it. Would love him here aslong as he stays fit.

People are massively exaggerating this pull that Bruce has.

We will only sign players that better clubs don't want. Players don't sign for clubs they don't actually want to be at just because of a certain manager.

If he comes to us it's the end of his England aspirations and the end of Europe for him.

In any case, as far as we're concerned he has a very suspect injury history.

Don't get me wrong I'd love us to sign him and I understand the first-team football thing but you'd think Sunderland could offer him that too and quite simply, they're a better side than us at the moment.

Of course they sign for reputable managers, however the club, wages, agents fee, potential of the club, first team football and many more things come far and above the manager. We are attractive but they are 19 other clubs in the Premier League who are at least as attractive to us and i would say 18 are more attractive.

Agreed. This ^^^^^. I suspect that any interest we have will have been made known already. I wonder if Curtis Davies has had a word in his mates ear ?
Whatever happens, to be even rumoured to be looking at him is massive progress. Never say never. Steve Bruce has history of grabbing gems.

How can you say they are a better side, Di Canio is decimating the Sunderland team and we don't know how the players he is bringing in will gel. Let's not forget what happened to Man City in that first season they got the Arab money in, bought like there was no tomorrow and what happened **** all cause it took time to get the players to play together. I posted about Huddlestone on Twitter. I got an email saying the Club were willing to make a £4million bid for him but there were reports that Sunderland are bidding £5million to put us out the race.

At least we can make them pay more for him!

At the moment they're a better side than us, we're newly promoted and we've just signed a Sunderland reserve who will be a key player for us. I'm not putting us down or anything and I know we could finish above Sunderland but at the moment they're a better side than us and the same goes for everyone apart from Palace.

Jimmy Bullard is a prime example, despite his off field antics, they wouldn't have mattered if he managed to stay off the injury table and play a good chunk of games.

As we all know, Nick Thompson has a picture of Bullard in the front of his transfer file. I'm not suggesting that Huddlestone would be as bad a signing but there are comparisons to be made in terms of high price, high wages and injury concerns, the only reason we'd go for him is if Bruce can convince NT to ignore the main principle he's set himself for this summer.

For that reason I think you're absolutely right, it won't happen.

I wish we had that luxury but I don't think we can afford to gamble in case he gets injured after 37 minutes and put out for the season.

I think a lot would depend on a medial and whether or not we can get insurance on him. If we can get insurance, than at least his wages will be covered whilst he's on the treatment table...

I disagree, he'd have to play well in a good chunk of games rather than the discgraceful incidents we saw where in one particular game (oppo escapes me) he tried everything within his power to be as far away from the ball as possible. People often say he played well for City when he did play. This is a myth perpetuated by winning the Player of the Month awarded pureloy for his celebration at Citeh.
