Nothing to do with purist. prefer football on the deck. prefer Wengers Arsenal Liverpool and Forest to Grahams Arsenal and Wilkinsons Leeds. The Gas have been Bristols long ball club. Osman went down that route and gates went from 13000 to 7000 here. Pulis here for only a few months is hated to this day.

why change the style? dunno. maybe this was idea all along and its turned out to be pony. the new signings added nothing or worse.

That's the problem though isnt it - it is all about "purist" speak - you've just done it. What you prefer is not necessarily what you need.

Extolling "on the deck" football as the right way to go is fine when things are going well, but it also encourages a blame culture when things then change. If this apparent new long ball approach had worked and brought results there'd be plenty on here advocating that as a way to get out of this division instead of just complaining about your recent demise.

There were posts on this thread and loads of others denigrating the Warnock style of getting the ball forward early rather than taking a dozen passes to get over the half way line. They've dried up because it looks like you've tried it (for some reason) and can't adapt to it.

Some may say it's because of the type and quality of your players, but if thats the case, it says little for the quality of your club management.

Not sure if your post is asking me questions or telling me what to think. Havent extolled on the deck as the right way to go as i said its what i like and gave comparisons .

The Colin postson here regarding his football are bang on. If anything its your post that is purist you seem to be saying Colins football with its gameship and cheating is they way to go. Obviously there are many ways to attempt to play football not just the Coin way.

There you go again. I didn't say Warnock's way was the way to go at all. I'll ignore the gamesmanship remark - everybody attempts that, it's just that Warnock is better than most. As for the cheating bit, please explain. I said it was consistant with what's needed to get out of this divison - particularly on a tight budget.

The two clubs currently at the top of the division, Wolves and Fulham are a couple of teams of real quality players who are there on merit. One had a huge amount of money thrown at it and the other has quietly built the quality over a number of seasons. To compete with that in the short term you either have to match them or be different.

Bristol City are trying to do both in two halves of the season and it hasn't worked so far.

Cheating gamesmanship and Colin no need to explain.

Wolves and Fulham. differing ways away from lumping it. rather City were again similar Fulham. that seemed to be the road and i hope is in future.

Another win for that cheating bastard Warnock. He just doesn't deserve it with his gamesmanship, cheating and long ball rubbish.

Just imagine if he'd played the game ethically, honestly and prettily, we could be 11th now.......<laugh>

Your away kit is gross. Our lime green kit is horrible but take those shorts and combine it with lavender socks and top. :emoticon-0119-puke::emoticon-0119-puke::emoticon-0119-puke:
