They've only gone and used our name

I have never had any conversation with anyone involved with the club that has required me to promote the use of Hull City Tigers or Hull Tigers. I do not have direct contact with the club or attend meetings with the club. In the last two years I have only been to the clubs office once. No one on the current board of the OSC has ever to my knowledge discussed the use of the name of the club. We use Hull City and The Tigers in our everyday output. Sometimes of it is needed we use Hull City AFC and no one at the club asks us to change anything.
That reads like a carefully worded quote from a club 'official'. :emoticon-0127-lipss

To me its exactly the same. The club's name is Hull City. The club's failure to use it properly is childish. An adult would have bit the bullet after the second FA application was rejected and reinstated the club's name.
I see it differently and I still think many will just read Hull City.
I also accept your points and those of other posters. I not saying I am right just that I have a different view about how supporters will see this.

I had to think hard to recall that tickets for Hull City would have AFC on them. Or did they? That's my point Hull City, not a badge not. Hull Tigers. Perhaps I think that our support is more fickle than you.
I spend time talking to supporters before games, you are wrong. Hardly any support the use of Hull Tigers, but there are plenty who would not do anything to stop it. I would say they would see Hull City and not notice Tigers until it was pointed out, just like I cannot recall what it said on the tickets, except that it said Hull City.

What a foolish argument that is. It is always the few who lead and fight for what is right. Hull City AFC is the historic name and in no way should anyone with a passion for our club accept anything else. Your whole argument is utter bollocks.

The club's original tweet has 5 shares, 17 likes and 41 abusive comments.

My version has 40 shares, 125 likes and nothing but positive comments.

That suggests your 'many' is a rather small group, at least on social media.

I think a large number of supporters no longer care what the Allams' do and are praying they just sell up and soon. Many supporters ignore what the club are putting out and the slow death of Hull City continues. The bitterness and rancour that has divided our club for years will get worse.

17 likes sort of proves the point though.
Of course your version gets more approval, why wouldn't it. I would prefer your version.
17 out of 58 is quite a problem. It means that they either like Hull City Tigers or they liked something that they did not see as an issue.
And yet I post bollocks.

We will always be Hull City AFC. After everything we've been through, I expect we'd be the last club to change our name.

But if Obi this is a small step forward towards the use of Hull City, I would take that as a positive.

Some see it the other way, but I dont

Next week I may have another view. But I am not convinced that this is a bad thing.

But you said there was an improvement and are you now saying nothing's changed?

To be fair:

It's obviously an attempt to placate the fans, while Ehab thinks he's still cleverly using his beloved Hull City Tigers.

Still, it's an improvement.

Yes I think that's where I am too. It's an obvious compromise and has a sting in the tail, but it is a concession from the Allam machine that all too rarely gives concessions.

I wonder what has precipitated this? Is it volunteered or has it been mandated? Or is just an idea a lowly graphic designer has had, for which he or she will pay with his job? I guess we will never know.

I don't think you're the only one to have misread it; as I don't see any improvement or concession. Difference is that you have dug your heels in. It's just wrong, it's cynical and it should have been expected. The furore on social media won't bother the twats one iota; in fact, I believe Ehab will revel in it. Like I said elsewhere, he's playing with the support.

I do not think we will be the last. But you are right acceptance of anything other than the full name will always be an issue. Even as a comprise. I do find it odd however that some posters see our support divided and others post that no one supports any name change.

Just about everyone involved who understands that the OSC (Official Sycophants Club) does not get involved in the politics anymore.

Anymore? Certainly not since the days of that well known militant agitator Colin Smith!

I have held a view on this from the outset and nothing has changed for me other than the dropping of the use of Tigers on match promotions and for my sins I see this as a step forward.

They are calling us Hull City Tigers ffs - this is one of 2 names (Hull Tigers being the other) that started the protests against our name change

It is not a step forwards. It is Ehab acting like a **** - something he is very good at

If only he spent as much time buying and selling players, sorting out player contracts and bringing the club (players, coaches, backroom staff and supporters) together

There were a few who didn't fuss over a name change, but more and more have seen the other **** the Allams have done over the last few years. The home support will be a very sad thing to see this season and some people who care more for their online persona will blame the likes of me.

I'm sorry but your post is lost on me.

I have only been on the board since July 2015 and no other director has been on it longer than me.
I only know directors who have served with me.
During my time on the board changes have been made and we consentrate on what we are good at, not what we are not.

Using the company name on everything is just a continuation of what's gone on before. For me the name of the club died when it was rejected the second time around. The Allams treat Hull City supporters with contempt. The name is only a small part of that. If Ehab wants to build bridges and sort out the mess him and his dad have created he needs to talk with the Trust and the OSC about finding solutions to the use of the name, concessions and the closure of the upper west. It isn't rocket science. Using Hull City Tigers is a bit like trying to treat a severed limb with a sticking plaster.

I wish you'd all flipping stop arguing. Hull City is our name nothing else is acceptable. I think there were maybe some who were not particularly bothered but with everything else that has gone on I would expect they have changed their stance.
