You think I should start leading protests again, based on a tweet about our game against Burton Albion? You really are posting some strange ****e on this thread.
I see it differently and I still think many will just read Hull City. I also accept your points and those of other posters. I not saying I am right just that I have a different view about how supporters will see this.
What a foolish argument that is. It is always the few who lead and fight for what is right. Hull City AFC is the historic name and in no way should anyone with a passion for our club accept anything else. Your whole argument is utter bollocks.
The club's original tweet has 5 shares, 17 likes and 41 abusive comments. My version has 40 shares, 125 likes and nothing but positive comments. That suggests your 'many' is a rather small group, at least on social media.
I think a large number of supporters no longer care what the Allams' do and are praying they just sell up and soon. Many supporters ignore what the club are putting out and the slow death of Hull City continues. The bitterness and rancour that has divided our club for years will get worse.
17 likes sort of proves the point though. Of course your version gets more approval, why wouldn't it. I would prefer your version. 17 out of 58 is quite a problem. It means that they either like Hull City Tigers or they liked something that they did not see as an issue. And yet I post bollocks.
We will always be Hull City AFC. After everything we've been through, I expect we'd be the last club to change our name.
But if Obi this is a small step forward towards the use of Hull City, I would take that as a positive. Some see it the other way, but I dont Next week I may have another view. But I am not convinced that this is a bad thing.
To be fair: I don't think you're the only one to have misread it; as I don't see any improvement or concession. Difference is that you have dug your heels in. It's just wrong, it's cynical and it should have been expected. The furore on social media won't bother the twats one iota; in fact, I believe Ehab will revel in it. Like I said elsewhere, he's playing with the support.
I do not think we will be the last. But you are right acceptance of anything other than the full name will always be an issue. Even as a comprise. I do find it odd however that some posters see our support divided and others post that no one supports any name change.
Anymore? Certainly not since the days of that well known militant agitator Colin Smith! The views expressed in my posts are not necessarily mine.
I have held a view on this from the outset and nothing has changed for me other than the dropping of the use of Tigers on match promotions and for my sins I see this as a step forward.
They are calling us Hull City Tigers ffs - this is one of 2 names (Hull Tigers being the other) that started the protests against our name change It is not a step forwards. It is Ehab acting like a **** - something he is very good at If only he spent as much time buying and selling players, sorting out player contracts and bringing the club (players, coaches, backroom staff and supporters) together
There were a few who didn't fuss over a name change, but more and more have seen the other **** the Allams have done over the last few years. The home support will be a very sad thing to see this season and some people who care more for their online persona will blame the likes of me.
I'm sorry but your post is lost on me. I have only been on the board since July 2015 and no other director has been on it longer than me. I only know directors who have served with me. During my time on the board changes have been made and we consentrate on what we are good at, not what we are not.
Using the company name on everything is just a continuation of what's gone on before. For me the name of the club died when it was rejected the second time around. The Allams treat Hull City supporters with contempt. The name is only a small part of that. If Ehab wants to build bridges and sort out the mess him and his dad have created he needs to talk with the Trust and the OSC about finding solutions to the use of the name, concessions and the closure of the upper west. It isn't rocket science. Using Hull City Tigers is a bit like trying to treat a severed limb with a sticking plaster.
I wish you'd all flipping stop arguing. Hull City is our name nothing else is acceptable. I think there were maybe some who were not particularly bothered but with everything else that has gone on I would expect they have changed their stance.
