I don't recall, honestly. Unlike the minutes, we never said our correspondence between ourselves would be published and the details of who said what and when should remain private in my view.
Conspiracy mode and tin hat on: Warning, what follows is pure fiction. The names of those involved have been changed from the fictional ones to real ones, for the sake of gossip and rumour mongering.. A third party made the suggestion to Allam to buy the club as they'll get it cheapish due to the current owners hitting a cash flow problem. If they get the Freehold, the third party would buy it back at an agreed bumper price. (***) Allam's buy the club, third party rips off mask Scooby Doo stylee, and reveals himself to be Bartletts best mate helping resolve his cash flow problem. (***) I haven't invented the yarn they spun to explain why they didn't just buy it yet, but I'm going to offer a local businessman that the Council won't deal with, just to plug the gap.
Yep. Why else would they be using Burns / RH like a puppet? They ban him & RH then all of a sudden open up to him. They only do things because of some self serving interest. Rat, and it stinks.
I suspect you are right. What did you make of his explanation re the allocation of previous parachute payments? Did you think it plausible? Are we as a fan base ill-informed about the cost of servicing the transfers he referred to and their associated fees/ wages or is he being disingenuous? MoH
Question: if they thought there was going to be trouble at a particular game could they refuse our ticket allocation; or buy them all up themselves? Harder if tickets have already been sold (I do not know)? MoH
The fact that transfer fees are spread across two or three years isn’t news, it doesn’t affect the overall numbers, he was just trying to muddy the waters. Same with debt level, where he said we could check it in the accounts, accounts that he’s obviously well aware are almost a year out of date already. He’s just full of ****, blaming fans for the club not selling, claiming he wants fan unity, while refusing to address fan issues, he’s a slimy bullshitting ****er.
According to Allam he was promised the freehold. If he paid for it he wouldn't have made any profit so why would he do that? Especially if he was promised the freehold as a quid pro quo for saving the club.
He was obviously never promised the freehold, he just assumed he’d be given it if he built his sport village and even if he were to be given it, it would have been conditional on the sport village going ahead.
I’m not disagreeing that he said he was promised it...but there’s absolutely no likelihood that he was Whether he was lying or whether he heard what he wanted to hear in discussions I don’t know, but there is no conceivable way that he was promised it from anyone who would have had the ability to make it happen
What a ****ing **** article. We pay our licence money to be put down by this Allam sympathising bullshit.
I believe the freehold of the stadium would be free. West Park is totally restricted and although the freehold is available, no building can be done on it. The car park (fairground) is the sticking point and this is the area what would not be free, without it developing the Stadium area loses its attraction. The triangle has some issues and the development of it would be expensive. So whilst the freehold may be given away, the infrastructure and environmental costs are huge.
