The wife and I did The Queue on Friday (and into Saturday). We made a group of Queue friends. There were 8 of us, including an ex-serviceman who'd had a quite distinguished career. It was an honour to share the journey with him as he went to see "The Boss" one last time.

Seeing all these service lads and lasses today brings home what it must have meant to him.

100% mate. Devastated I couldn't go due to being offshore, otherwise I would have been straight down there with one of my best pals who is ex Navy to pay our final respects to the lady we swore an oath to.

No one can hold a candle to us Brits ,for tradition and pageantry because no one else has the History we have. This country wrote the book.

My son just sent a message saying that whatever you feel about then Royalist and religious aspects the whole thing is part of what makes everything real. Without it everything from Alfred the Great to the Battle of Britain is pointless.

A little bit shambolic on the way out of Westminster Hall by the people either side of the gun carriage (not the pushers or pullers) . Clearly not practiced getting through that gate. Everyone else brilliant.
