The wife and I did The Queue on Friday (and into Saturday). We made a group of Queue friends. There were 8 of us, including an ex-serviceman who'd had a quite distinguished career. It was an honour to share the journey with him as he went to see "The Boss" one last time. Seeing all these service lads and lasses today brings home what it must have meant to him.
No one can hold a candle to us Brits ,for tradition and pageantry because no one else has the History we have. This country wrote the book.

My son just sent a message saying that whatever you feel about then Royalist and religious aspects the whole thing is part of what makes everything real. Without it everything from Alfred the Great to the Battle of Britain is pointless.

Charles looks exhausted. Grieving along with all the duties he has undertaken must have left him with very few moments of rest!
