I was just thinking that. I was also thinking I'd be absolutely ****ting it if I was one of those lads that had to carry the coffin in.
I used to work with a bloke who carried Princess Diana's coffin at her funeral. He was saying that they could hardly keep their feet on the marble floor of Westminster Abbey, not ideal when you are carrying a quarter-tonne coffin in full view of millions world wide.

Think I’m in a minority in having no interest in watching the funeral or any of the other things with it. Hope nobody’s offended by that. I didn’t know her, I never met her,

im not being disrespectful here. Just I’m very much an atheist so why watch a church service for someone I don’t know?
I don’t think that you are being disrespectful at all. There will be a lot of people that think the same as you at least your being honest and putting your thoughts forward in the discussion. I think today was absolutely fabulous and agree with others on here that nobody does pomp and ceremony like the British. I just happened to be in this afternoon and watched it but have to admit I haven’t watched that much of the coverage. Today was just brilliant and I’m sure Monday will be to.

I am not a royalist, however I do think EIIR, did a good job for a long time.

Cannot see Charles being any good.

The whole funeral procedure does at least for me seem to be dragging on.

Golf course open, club house closed Monday, so I am not sure if I will be watching depending on tee off times. Although I will not do a Dennis Law re England 1966 and deliberately miss it.

Lucky you. They have decided to close both the course and the clubhouse on Monday at our club.

You could try a few episodes of Miranda to fill in a hour or two.

Two police officers have been taken to hospital after being stabbed in central London, the Metropolitan Police says.

The stabbing took place near Leicester Square at 06:00 BST and is not being treated as terror-related. Their injuries are not life-threatening.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan branded the attack "utterly appalling" at a "momentous time for our country".

A man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and assaulting an emergency worker.
