Agree with Arcadia though - bought my season ticket long before I knew what was happening with the team. I cant afford it to be honest but thats what credit cards 0% are for

Definately and me and my missus got a deal which we still dont pay till the season starts and only pay £29 a month for 9 months!, so yeah to be honest if you really wanted one you'd have kept your eye out for all the deals they did in February, March, April and May. I can totally understand with work issues though but me and my partner both work crazy shifts often falling on saturdays and tuesdays, and last season there was alot of swapping shifts action! But we just went for it anyway and the ones we cant make we'll pass on to some mates!

I do feel bad though for the thousands who buy single game tickets though, alot of them being mates and family of mine who wont always be able to come! wish they could add like an extra 2K seats swapping the stadium about a bit! or just limit season tickets to a little less.
 
It's conceivable to expand seating in the liberty, but we must first make it to the premier league, which we've done, and stay up which will be harder, if we do stay up the benefits would be to almost double the amount of money earned, and that would make it a possibility to buy out the council, and before you say it, the council are a public body they are in a dire situation, £10m-£20m in the coffers would go a long way!

For the Liberty to grow, Swansea's decision-makers need evidence that there is a demand for more space.

Getting fed up with people saying true fans would have got there season ticket when they went on sale, how do you know what peoples finances are like! . I have supported the swans all my life
gone to every game we are struggling with money at the moment as it is, we could not afford them last month we have scrimped and scraped to try and afford them this month so we do not miss out. But as loyal fans we can not get tickets and am really sad that we can not go and see much of the swans next season, really gutted. I know so many people who dont even support the swans who have got season tickets its just not fair but that's what happens when the club does not do something to try and help there true fans make sure they get there tickets. I really wish we could have afforded to buy them last month but that is life. :(
 
I think both sides (for and against) have gone a bit extreme here. Everyone (myself included) had plenty of time to get a season ticket, so no real argument there, just disappointment that I MAY not have an opportunity to go to a number of home games next year.

From a personal point of view, I've been more of an away supporter in recent years, so it will hit me hard if I don't get an opportunity to go to many away games next year, which is quite likely. But, as others have stated, that is just the way it is now.

I don't like the way people are trying to classify fans (plastic, real, etc). A fan is a fan, some go to more games than others, but it doesn't mean you love the club anymore than the next person. Everyone is different and has to operate under different circumstances. I will support the club just the same wherever I am on match day.

Selling so many tickets for next season is only a positive thing for the club, lets hope we kick on from here and establish ourselves in the PL. Up the Jacks!
 
Sorry 1stclass but I disagree, what you want the club to do, get sworn aftedavits that certain people are fans or not ? Do you want the club to turn people away because you are not a real fan but a plastic? Sorry it doesn't work like that, and you circumstances are not really the club's fault, and really I say that with the greatest of respect, it could be that someone's circumstances don't allow them to buy a season ticket until July .

Swansea City is a business first, they must maximise the chances to earn an income, they cannot turn business away, to do so could be financial suicide and not good practice, basically you and others have had months to sort out tickets, as mentioned above £29 a month on a deal, surely buying a ticket on direct debit would allow you to buy early instead of saving ?

If the club go down next may and cardiff go up you all know what will happen, the one season wonders will be winging up the M4 to the cardiff city stadium to shout com on utd in their cardiff shirts, to be honest with you this leaves a sour taste in my mouth ,

I suspect you will be putting that info thread up for some of our own fans this season , i bet some of them have only seen pictures of the liberty.
 
I won't be getting a season ticket for next season as I'm looking to to uni in Cardiff from September, and it's quite disappointing to see that there will only be 2,000 tops tickets on general sale.
But if the Liberty is sold out every week, that can only be a good thing for the club, then they might even look to increase the capacity.
Suppose I'll have to go to Legoland to watch football next season... and sit in the away end ;)

Well what are you saying then that the 40k that went up to wembley, fully 25k of them have only seen pictures of the Liberty? or the thousands who lined the streets on the parade has only seen pictures? Really the club is a business who cannot afford to turn down business, I am not trying to be harsh, the tickets have been on sale on and off since March, what more do you want the club to do?
 
Evening guys..the main problem seems to be that people are being allowed to buy 4 tickets at a time, although i did have a txt today saying that they have reduced this to 2. Not sure what the answer is to the problem, but its clearly to late for some.

The main problem is 40k doesn't fit into 18k, no matter how much you juggle, be thankful that we have sold out, I am sure it the lollypop man in his article said in the post that we would struggle to fill the stadium
 
40k? oh, the 40k that went to wembley you mean. Well we all know that they were'nt real swans supporters dont we. They were wives,grannies, uncles aunts, cousins etc etc.......only 15k of the 40k were real fans. But it comes across that you think it fine for these people to have first choice of tickets over someone who have followed the club fore years and not just a glory day out at wembley. Sad

What i am saying is this, the board need to remember the fans that have supported this club through the leagues, as i have stated earlier there are many who are unable to commit to season tickets be it for financial reasons or travel/work but have attended many games throughout the season , the club should put 4 thousand tickets on general sale each matchday instead of the 2 thousand stated on the website at least it would give the many that have lost out now, the stadium would sell out regardless, I think the board are more worried it seems about our new corporate friends than using this opportunity to maintain and build the long term fan base of our club, because if we go down this season there will not be any large queues of the like we are seeing now, and the man utd fans would have moved on

This is an opportunity to get that next generation of swans fans,

Artist I have never hated Huw Jenkins, but I'm no mug or sheep either, you have rarely contributed on these forums, and when you do, you don't adress the topic, but attempt to pigeon hole me regarding this subject, yet the article has clearly drawn opinions rightly or wrongly, so who the hell are you to condescendingly make a judgement on why I decided to write this article, do us all a favour if your not going to be constructive then clear off!.......

I have been talking to someone today who has cleared up for me the question of why the club has taken this step, its because they have to find £5.4 million to cover the cost of servicing the squad bonus for promotion and other player payments.the squad will share a pot of £5.4 million. as always the name will remain confidential but it seems that promotion aint cheap

Its not sad, the fact is people have had 3 months to buy a ticket, and some have not for various reasons, and those glory fans who have parted with cash enable the club to possibly buy players like Graham if it comes off, if you owned a shop and somebody came in and bought all the beers for sale, would you stop him buying because the person behind him was a loyal shopper who has been coming there for years?

The club is a business, just like any other, they have an obligation to make money first and foremost, because if they didn't we would have no football club to support, and I am trying to sympathetic here, but its very hard, not because I bought my ticket in March, but because people ignored the warnings, and try to jump on the ship when the swans reach the premier league!
