If we are relegated back , there will be only be 1stclasswans left . And after not having tickets to the premier , the club will count on the 1stclasswans to start buying tickets again for the Championship . OK, DPJ, I have to agree with the argument that deciding who is a plastic fan and who isn't is not as cut and dry as you may be seeing it. Am I a plastic fan? ...
I bought a season ticket when we came to the Liberty. Maybe it was because I realised big things would be coming our way and wanted to be part of the movement. I've had one every year since. Just for the record, I bought my Season Ticket in March this year.
The people (call them 'Fat Cats' or business owners that want to follow the Swans, whichever you like) that are buying tickets without queuing could just be being smart. Maybe they also realise that the Swans are heading for (if not already found) great things and realise they also want to be part of the movement.
I queued for a couple of hours for the Notts Forest Home leg and 6.5 hours for Wembley. If I could have avoided that, I would have. These people are just using their business to get a foot in the door just like the 6 people I bought tickets for Wembley for when I was holding 3 Season Tickets in the queue.
And as for the argument that only 15k of the travelling 40k were proper fans, how could they all have gone to the Liberty??? With 20k capacity, they could have fought and queued all they wanted, they wouldn't have fit. I'm not so naive to think that they were all unlucky die-hards, but as a few others have said, the proper fans bought their Season Ticket before they knew we were the only Premiership Team in Wales. (Had to get that last bit in).

No you are not shaper, you are a new generation fan, and very welcome, but ask yourself this, the average support the last few seasons has been 15,000, and all of a sudden with in the space of a week, we get 40,000 fans! now don't get me wrong, it was great to see wembley so full with this support, but were they there at the Carling cup? Try 6000 fans, what I'm saying is simply that the club should, and could have protected the genuine fans who can't afford season ticket's for whatever reason, and that would not have been difficult for the club to do. I hope that with the 2000 tickets over, that the club will now give priority to those, who can produce a minimum number of ticket stubs through the season, which will eliminate any more plastic getting to the remaining 2000 tickets that are left.......................

Thank you Mabon! here then is the truth, of why there was this free for all, the club did not have the money to fulfil it's short term commitment regarding squad bonus, could the club have handled this better, of course they could have, and they could also have protected the real jack faithful too, I hope the club learn from this, and that the Board recognise all sections of paying fans, not just ST holders, and not allow the plastic to get ahead of the real fans!............

Come on Phil, if they can't afford the tickets, why should the swans protect their seats? so ask yourself this, if you were in charge and somebody came up with cash in their hands to buy a season ticket in advance of the season kicking off, would you turn it down? Or protect the seats on the off chance that certain people will come up with the wonga on match day and buy a ticket?

Hell Jager you can be one stubborn old boot on times, Mabon has answered that earlier in the thread when he stated, that they should have kept 4000, tickets for general sale, you've already been told there was a problem in funding the Squad bonus, and hence why they went with such a high percentage of season tickets, so what is your problem, can't you understand that not everyone is able to purchase ST, like you and I, Man your hard work, I'd love you to meet my mother in law!............

Well yes there was a mistake in capacity if you ask me, 25000, seater would have helped enormously. On a side issue, I've been told that to sustain Premiership football, you need at leas a 35,000 seater stadium, I'm just hoping the club sort out the extra 5000 seats, because it's lost income!............

Anyway 16k tickets sold, banked about £5m , plus about £100k a game on away support and the remaining home tickets, so another £2m or so on gate receipts, this will help the club hugely

It seems the forecasts (about us attracting more fans from West Wales and other areas, where previously fans wouldn´t have made so many trips) were right? If we stay up we could probably retain the season tickets we sold last year and add more, so if we were looking at 18,000 season tickets, for example, as well as 4000 say on matchday sales and an away allocation, we could easily do 25k if you ask me.
Don't agree with the premier league survival of 35k seater stadiums, the fact is most income from other streams in this league, we have 10s of millions coming in from tv rights now, plus merchandise and sponsorship will increase hugely, probably exceeding the shortfall of having a smaller stadium
We also don't have any debt to repay or owners leeching money out of the club which is a big plus

Yes that's becoming clear as day light Scott, hope the club sort out the paperwork, for Health & Safety, and Fire regs, to get those extra 5000, seats sorted, as it's lost income which no team can afford to lose, I'm surprised that we did not get this sorted some time ago, so that we could just get on with putting in the extra seating!..........

I agree with everything Phil has said. Other have stated we've had months to sort out ST's, but I think some of you have your blinkers on and can't see the bigger picture as to why some people didn't. I have my reasons, therefore anyone that calls me a plastic is an utter prat.
I have 16 home ticket stubs from last season, 12 the season before, 14 the year before that and so on (I keep them all, sad I know). Now, could they not have had some sort of system where loyal Jacks, like me, can show their stubs and guarantee they're ticket over some big cat that has only watched them once?
You need to remember, the majority of these news fans are only coming to "support" OUR lads because the likes of Rooney, Bale etc etc will be playing down the Liberty. They don't give two ****s about the Swans at all! Ask to see they're stubs, they can't because they won't have any.

JackAsh can you tell me how you know that these people don't care about the swans ? Not having stubs to show that they watched the swans previously doesn't cut it, the club cannot rely on stubs to sign new players or pay bills, sorry but there was a chance to get a ticket for all home games for £300 in march, you could have spread the payments, less than £30 a month!

Still don't think people understand the fact that there are reasons why some didn't get ST's! It's got nothing to do with money Jager. I have work commitments, and up until last week, I didn't know I was able to get a ST.

Well, the guys in there admitted that this was their FIRST game of watching the Swans. They then went on to admit that they all bought ST's INCASE we won that day! Yep, never been to a previous game. I can assure you there were a few more also.
I did buy tickets last season yes. But they are going to be high in demand this year. Unless I know the exact time they go on sale and get on the phone, I'm unlikely to stand a chance, am I.

But there we are. At least I can be an armchair supporter next year and throw hundreds of pounds at my beloved club. I don't have a ST, therefore I am not a real fan!

Thing is JackAsh, they have put their money where their mouths are, they may have only been to one game previously, but who is to know whether they will enjoy it so much that they will renew every year from now on, I am sorry you are angry with this, but the club is a business, they must sell tickets on demand, if they turn people away it could mean that any potential new supporter will not bother ever again, all clubs rely on not just their die hard fans but the plastic variety as well
