I'm gutted by this. I went to 20 home games last season, don't own a ST as sometimes I take my kids if it's my weekend with them sometimes I don't.

Gordon bennet Dragon something's never change ! Pre season doom and gloom already. Incredible ! With all due respect, the non plastics are the ones who have already purchased a season ticket long before the Jacks went up ......

Hmmm. Some of the replies on here are utter bullshit.

Should have got our season tickets months ago?

This doesn't and can't apply to everyone. I'm 23. I live in Mid-Wales where wages are considerably less than Swansea. I work Saturday's. Me and my girlfriend are getting married next year at a cost of aprox £10,000. We are also saving up to buy a house so we can stop renting. Therefore, last season, and the one before, I would go to a match when I could afford it, not forgetting I have to pay more than you as I live 60 miles away and the current cost of fuel!
I attended 24 (home and away) games last season simply because work was quiet alot of the time, and I won £400 on the Irish lottery which I put aside for tickets for me and my missus.
I went to Wembley and I am a diehard Jack. My boss has told me I can have every home game off on a Saturday because we are in the big time, therefore me and the girlfriend were going to buy a season ticket each and have them as our birthday present from one another.

And your telling me I don't deserve one? WHAT A ****ING JOKE!!!!

Guess Ill be a plastic and watch from my armchair next year as some of us can't get a day off to travel to Swansea!!!! Beginning to think my club is a joke!!!!

I king of agree with both of the posts.

I feel sorry for Ash not able to get a season ticket, but like you said, Swans are in the big time now and your boss probably wouldnt have let you off if we werent.

Agree with Arcadia though - bought my season ticket long before I knew what was happening with the team. I cant afford it to be honest but thats what credit cards 0% are for

I can´t and won´t be getting a season ticket, but what do people expect? They announced before the playoff final we´d already be looking at record numbers, promotion or not, so anyone thinking about it should have been prepared really. Disappointing slant on the article, Phill, you´ve been all happy of late and it could have been a bit more objective, don´t you think?

End of the day, most of the season tickets sold for this season are still going to be held by people who´ve previously had season tickets, add the away fans and the extra 2k matchday tickets every week and we´re still going to have a noisy passionate stadium. Don´t get me wrong I don´t like the idea of rich fatcats taking up seats my friends could otherwise be sitting in, but if they want to put their money on the table, and that money ultimately benefits the club, then brilliant as far as I´m concerened.

I did some basic maths (which might well be completely wrong) last night but by my reckoning we´re going to make about 5 million pounds from season tickets this year, and when away fans come into the bargain we´ve landed yet more money, and none of it has to go to paying off debt! STID.

The queue for season tickets has already been cut with the queue being "the length of the South Stand and twice the length of the East Stand".

Full houses guaranteed every match next season, but as Phil says there will be a fair amount of plastic. But all Clubs have their plastic supporters so lets get on with it and support the lads ;)

No disrespect here, but people were given ample time to get tickets, the I can't afford thing is an issue, but you can finance the tickets with the swans, put it on a credit card or remortgage house ;)

There are still 2k tickets being sold for each game per premier league rules ! You can buy those online also

And I said years ago the liberty is ok for every league but this one, and it's being borne out now, we should have gone with a 25k seater stadium like originally planned, Cardiff had the right idea, shame short sighted council and wag grants restricted us, still say we should buy the stadium if we stay up

Unfortunately I don´t ever see the council wanting to sell us the stadium, it makes no sense as it´s going to be a good source of income for them... as well as the obvious issues of the Ospreys and any non-sporting events they want to put on there. On the plus side though, it´s a workable situation. We have the most considerate landlords possible, and I´m sure the council wouldn´t object to us expanding the stadium in some capacity as long as we foot the bill.

For example, a conversation I had with a friend (who´s a planner, incidentally one who was involved with the Morfa retail complex) led to him explaining that our best bet would be for us to say "we´ll put another 5k seats in, but any revenue generated from those seats is ours". The council lose nothing, maybe even gain through increased matchday revenues (crappy burgers and warm lager etc), can anyone think of a reason why they wouldn´t go for this?

Remember though, IF we do sadly get relegated a 25k stadium will be harder to fill, even though I´d expect us to still have a higher average attendance than last year, so any decision to expand the stadium would be assessed throughout this season. If we were safe by March (I know... I know...) they´d probably announce it then and start work ASAP.

Few of my mates have been down the stadium since 11:30 last night, and were told about a hour ago to expect to wait another 7 hours! Crazy stuff!

Thing is though man, if someone wants to put money on the table and say "I´m paying to see every game" who are the club to say no?! Are people honestly suggesting we turn people away so we can do... what exactly?! Interview prospective ST holders to ascertain exactly how strongly they feel about the Swans? Come on...

Typical of Artist and some others to twist this into a negative article when it is not, the point is this, the club should have come out loud and clear that they were going to make this season an all season ticket affair, and should have stated that the crumbs left over would only be some 1500, to 2000 tickets, and as everyone knows that is not going to be enough to go on general sale. Of course thrown in with this are the usual greedy I'm all right Jacks who's comments don't add up to a bag of beens, as Jack Ash's example shows, he has and will be let down, there was no need for the club to be so greedy in the way it has gone down this all season ticket rout for next season, and those that defend it, don't have an argument, because the club made a profit on it's last accounts, and has also now hit the £90 million premiership Jack pot, like I said there are the I'm all right Jacks on here, as well as running the club, and it's a bloody disgrace, that some system had not been implemented to care for the likes of 'Real' fans such as Jack Ash, but I don't expect some of you I'm all right Jacks to understand, you type never will!......................

From a selfish point of view, I'm really gutted about this. I'm up in London, so can't get to many home games, but would like the chance to get to some. Also there are 5 london teams, but it could be difficult to get to those game now also.

I know, some friends of mine, who are not that interested in the Swans (but fairly wealthy), are buying Season Tickets.

Ok, it's great that we will have full houses each week, i'm genuinly happy about that. This is a special time for the club, and it's brilliant to have sell outs week in week out. More money for the Swans as well.

I guess I shall be resigned to Swans player for the season.

On the plus side Goodbye Claridge, hello lineker!

Phil, I´m not turning this into a negative thread, all I said was you could have put a more positive spin on it, and I stand by that.

As I said before, the Swans announced weeks ago we´d already sold as many as last year, and we were always going to sell close to the maximum allowed, if not all of them, so anyone moaning about it now would have to have either have had their head in the sand for the last few weeks or has just been genuinely unlucky. If the latter is the case I sympathise, but I´d say by having this many season ticket holders we´re guaranteeing more real fans than "plastics", because if we had more matchday tickets, games like Man Utd and Arsenal would be swamped with people from here who "support" those clubs.

Rhysj1 I can empathise with you on this, and my point is that the club could have handled this a lot better, to greedily grab 90% of the home seats to season ticket holders, is shameful to say the least, there should have been a fairer system implemented, the club are fully aware that not everyone can afford a season ticket, and the small percentage left over for general sale is quite simply a disgrace!.................

    Hi all.

From my own point of view, I've bought tickets for the last three seasons on a match by match basis knowing that they will be available. Sometimes I go by myself and sometimes with other family members, so getting season ticket(s) wasn't the best option despite racking up 20 home league games, 2 FA cup games, 1 Carling Cup and a pre-season friendly.

Next season my hand has been forced. I would prefer to carry on the same way but I knew that if we gained promotion I would probably miss out on the big games, so I bought 2 season tickets last week prior to Wembley. (As a new season ticket holder, but not a new Swansea City supporter).

There may well be thousands of fans taking this route.

When all is done & dusted it would be interesting to see how many people have season tickets who never really had them before & how many don't have season tickets who usually have had them for the past few seasons . Spin it anyway you want with the timing but if there are more new than old season ticket holders , somethings wrong .

Scott point taken, I'm never going to please everyone with my wording, and believe me when I tell you I have toned it down considerably from my original draft, so be grateful for small mercies, anyway we won't agree on everything!..............

Couldn't get a Season ticket as I'm only 15 and wouldn't be able t get to most games, but people picking up Season Tickets today is terrible, It means fans like me, who arn't able to get a ST for various reasons might not be able to go see many games, the only think I can do is hope that when tickets are released I can call the ticket office and book them, doubtful though.
