Well, if yesterday was anything to go by, they can smelt (?) down the Naismith statue and recast one for super-Mario. Or dilute the bronze down a bit and give us an :emoticon-0159-music 'only one Grant Hanley' :emoticon-0159-music tribute at the same time <ok>

It would have probably been cheaper to have built a full size Naismith statue from solid gold than sign him.

I've just read one of the best jokes ever - Fulham, Derby and Wolves want to sign JM!! <rofl>
WHY would he even consider going to any of those teams when the likes of Spuds, Loserpool (good win today though) and Saints are interested!!
Like ALL NCFC fans, we're just hoping that he won't leave until the summer.

I'm hoping that he may stay beyond next Summer, he appears to have a wise head on his shoulders and he is young enough to hope that his stock will rise even higher so he can get a better deal with the chance of playing for a big club without having to spend time on the bench.

I dare say his agent will have a slightly different career path mapped out for him.

Wolves could offer him a better chance of playing than either of Spuds or Liverpoo and probably pay him just as much.

    Bah!

As you say Dave and FML said in the MDT, he does seem 'wise beyond his years' and that he'll take the 'Huckerby approach' and make his own choice.
I dare say he would get an excellent salary and more game time with Wolves General, but I'm hopeful that he'll hold out to join a top 6 side and so have more chance of playing for Engerland!!

I hope that too, but Wolves could be just the stepping stone he needs to play in the PL, prove himself and then get his top six chance. Another year with city and questions would remain about the step up.

    Bah!

Like Huddersfield may do, Wolves could well go up and then straight back down. If he waits for the right offer, he could avoid that risk. He hasn't even had a year in the Championship yet.

Fair comment General and my hope is that he'll still be at CR when Boro visit next month.

...and part of that investment was an interest-free loan too from what I understand. Pretty sure Delia and MWJ are not in this simply for a quick buck.

No, but their financial ability to invest further in the club (just to keep up with the others even at our current level) is insufficient. Consequently they're holding / dragging us back from the progression and growth we all (apart from RBF) crave as football fans. <ok>

Thanks Cromer and I had seen the article and realise that we just have to enjoy watching him strut his stuff and show his skills whilst we can and I know that he is destined for FAR greater things. The best laugh I had was when an ex colleague, who is also an NCFC fan said at the beginning of the season, "Why are we playing an inexperienced 20 year old - WHAT good is he going to be??? He's put on a couple of stone from eating SOOOO much 'humble pie!!!' <laugh>

I'm not sure anyone can explain this - HOW can a scouting team/manager sign players such as - JM/Godfrey/Thompson and then also sign NAISMITH???? <doh>

Edit - the 3 players AN signed for the 'dynasty' (sorry Cromer) cost LESS than NAISMITHand their combined salaries are also considerably less!! <yikes>

It was that interest free loan of £2m that was paid back in installments during our second year in the PL.

Well, first you have to find the Megabucks benefactor whose willing to bankroll the club for the fun of it. Could be fun and he might even want us to change to blue shirts and white shorts as well. Perhaps you could approach Marcus Evans. I want us to succeed through good management rather than a sugar daddy's plaything. We have good youth players coming through at last and that, IMO, is the way to build a solid future, much the way Southampton has done.

How many more players can we let go without bringing anyone else in? I don't think we need any defenders in if Martin leaves, because We have plenty of CB's and LB options (although only one good player for LB). RB seems light, but we could probably get by.

Already too weak up top. I think we needed players on top of what we had. Keep hearing Naismith is off, it's sounding more and more like Jerome could be off. Nelson reports wont go away. Same with Maddison. I live in hope we wont sell all of them, but Nothing would surprise me with this board.

I really hope we announce a 1st choice quality winger or striker before we let anymore leave.

But will that be true when they're Naismith's age? I very much doubt it! ;)
