Not only you 1950. But without external funding, we'll just plod a course up and down this division for all eternity! Like our country 'cousins'. Why would anyone accept - and even want that, for a club they claim to support and want to see succeed and improve?
Cromer: I was waiting on Sherringham station for a train to Cromer recently when I spied a very large NCFC flag on a tall pole fluttering in the breeze in the garden of a house close to the platform. At the same time an ITFC supporter, on his way home from Sherringham to Ipswich got into conversation about football and was very interested in my views about my club and his. The whole conversation was amicable (we were both of senior years) but he was very scathing about Mick McCarthy! Seems both managers have their critics within their supporters.
Liverpool offering £25 - 30m for Maddison would be a no brainier. Webber, Farke and Delia/Michael would collectively bite their hands off. Are we seriously going to contemplate life without both Pritchard and Maddison when they have kept us in recent games?
I am not sure how to take Derbys bid for Oliveira. I have two good friends out here who are both Rams supporters, and their view of their board is very similar to our own. They say that they will not spend any real money and really lack ambition. Pretty convinced that they will manage to avoid promotion. WE ARE NOT UNIQUE.
Seems that Derby are after Jerome @ £1.5 - 2.0m not Oliveria. Perhaps the latter is out of their price range bearing in mind what you stated goldeneadie?
Jerome is not a proven goal scorer at this level anymore. BUT We can't go the rest of the season with only 1 striker in the squad. We are down to bare bones. Just like we can't go the rest of the season with only 1 playmaker/assist maker. We can't afford to go out and buy a striker in this market. Especially if we get less than 2M for Jerome. Just like we can't afford to go out and but another creator like Pritchard. If we let Jerome go, especially for that money, the board really have lost their heads.
FML - whilst I agree with you, we have Cantwell who I'm sure could 'cut the mustard' in the Championship.
Would have been a good opportunity to bring him off the bench for Maddison yesterday. He didn't fancy him.
I said on the MDT that I hoped he'd come on as a sub. We've got a pretty tough run of games coming up, so I wonder if he may get a chance soon. I wonder if he may get the chance of a few minutes on Wednesday???
STOP PRESS NEWS - 'Russell Martin will complete his loan move to Rangers this week - with Steven Naismith and Cameron Jerome also reportedly set for Carrow Road exits.' http://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwich-city/canaries-martin-naismith-jerome-transfer-rumours-1-5354194 As FML said earlier - I would have liked to have kept CJ, especially with Basil misfiring so badly. Seems to be an affliction which affects most of our strikers at some point!!
Surely DF must have irons in the fire already? I mean neither of his current duo can be described as 'on form' or prolific this season. What's Dwight Gayle up to these days - he seems to have gone under the radar recently
Good to know that for a club "under no pressure to sell any of it's best players" (quote Balls, Farke, Webber) we've already lost two, and three more appear to be heading towards that big revolving door out of Carra Rd? What the hell would happen if we were needing to sell, perhaps we'd see NCFC under 14 girls vs Sheffield United next weekend
Here we go again. For months on here we have had non-stop moans about strikers who can't score, Martin who should never play again, Wildshut who is useless, Naismith who is even worse and now it seems they all might be on their way what do we get? Moans and groans about no need to sell !!! The only one people wanted to keep was Pritchard but once he made it clear that he wanted out for PL football there was little the Club could do. You are beginning to sound like my wife on a bad day!!
I just dislike being told untruths by the people in power at the club to suit their own agenda. Tell it like it is, then fine, but to try to delude poor, not-clear-thinking, muddled, addled fans of the club is deceitful at best. Especially just as season ticket renewal time is looming. Show me fans of any football club who are deliriously happy with all events/sales/incomings at their club and I'll fly down to Nice or Marseilles (you decide ) and we'll sit in the sun and I'll but the Noilly Prat and tonics. How does that sound?
IMO, the Martin loan is likely, Naismith going as well is a 'possible' and Jerome leaving for £1.5m is still just a Telegraph rumour.
They have put around £11m into the club as capital, which they will get back if they sell. The difficulty is finding another 'selfish moo' who is willing to put up £11m with little chance of profit from it.
