morning all, Mrs Sandy drew the short straw today so I'm back at work this morning. But will have to take tomorrow off, nursery's have a 48hr quarantine rule if a child has been sick on site.

Thanks everyone for your messages, nice to log on and feel better reading them. :)

TTFN Hornette - you certainly seem to burn the candle at both ends.

Thought we might have heard again from NZ as several of you were here fairly late last night

Well done Hornette Sandy - hope your son continues to make good progress. Someone else said their son also got an ear infection - but I cannot find it in the back chat :( Best wishes to them anyway too

Welcome Roger - - yes ity is good to have you here - you always make your points really wlll and they make a fine read.

However - we should all remember not to completely desert the old board as it jus tgives 606 ammunition to say it is not much used

akureyri, how dare you!! Take that back!! It is a modern day, culinary masterpiece.

Did you ever watch Michel Roux's Service on BBC2 (possibly the greatest television programme ever produced)? Well, there are rumours circulating around the restaurant scene that like the last series, Michel Roux will be recruiting the usual maître d'hôtel and sommelier in the next series, as well as a chocolat chaudier (expert hot chocolate maker). Hot chocolate construction, much like the image I posted last night, is slowly becoming a recognised profession within the high end of fine dining. You wait, Jamie Oliver will release a program on Channel 4 about it soon - "Jamie's 30 Minute Hot Chocolate".

I confess I too am a holiday and late night reader so it takes me quite a while to get through books - not like when I used to use the tube and train - i could go through dozens of books then.

Lenny I know plenty of women with dragon tattoos
what circles do you move in :)

Never been to Blooms - years ago the restaurant to go to in London was "Rules" near Covent Garden - don't know if it is still around but it was seriously expensive - as I imagine Blooms would be if they serve a whole Duck - and so long as that was not the duck of death who has mercifully not found his way here

Never went to Blooms but the mention of bad service has reminded me of a Chinese restaurant just off of China Town / Leicester Square. From memory it was called Wonky's and it covered about 5 floors but the rooms were dotted around the building. The food was good and cheap but the service was awful, it was an unwritten rule that you had to argue with the staff at some point during the meal.

Was always a laugh and never got too serious :)

:) ah yes, Sandy, that darn 48 hour rule. i remember my daughter ate too many sweets once and was sick at nursery, they were adament she couldn't come back for 48 hours...and yet there was nothing wrong with her that lack of greed wouldn't have put right! Very annoying lol. i hope things get better and better :).

Oooh bubbly? What did i do? lol...thank you :) *slurp* <bubbly>

Leonardo - i do...i actually made a new year resolution to try and get some earlier nights this year, i did very well in January...February not so good, now it's March i'm hopeless again! lol Must try harder :)...and good point about 606...though i am kinda hooked on here sadly!

BBW - i thought your post last night looked moutwateringly good..but then, i'm a sucker for marshmallows.

Yep, Leonardo, i'm like that with books. i used to read on the train but now that i'm stuck in a car most of the day, i only ever read on holiday. i have a half finished book from my last holiday which will probably not be picked up again until the next one.

:) i used to love being a rock chick, back in the day lol

i think that's me up to date :)

You're right Ak. When i'm not being told to turn it off, i still listen to the rock music i listened to in the '70s :). My kids think i'm a freak lol...though my son is thankfully not a 'mainstream' fan...and my middle one copies him in everything so she is getting good taste too lol

Hornette I still follow my rock bands. Girls can not stop being a rock chicks, even when they grow up and have families and good jobs.

What is a rock male?? I am one of those in outlook (but dulled, in a nice way, by family and work) -- but going to see bands where the son is playing instead of the father. Definitely a sign of age.

Can't hang about for long today so cheers for the coffee (espresson today, I think). Have a good one all.

I don't visit for a while and the Nest moves on to a new philosophical level that would not have be forbidden under the aegis of the BBC (Britain's Best Censor):emoticon-0127-lipss. There is Norway's thread on Libya and a multitude of other things too.

I am beginning to like this place a lot! :emoticon-0140-rofl:

and Leonardo is our moderator as well. :police:

That's the trouble with having a hippie as a moderator - people get away with blue murder :)
