Sorry to read about the little one Sandy, hope he is soon better. Such things are a distant memory for me, but I see our children going through the same things with their children.
Well my labours for the day are finished, it is time to settle down with a nice glass or two of

The shed/workshop/ gite is progressing. It is rather like the Vic now, it has guttering on three sides.
It is amazing what you can find out on here. Hornette I did like your explanation about Esther. It is not a book that I have read recently. I did see that someone had posted elsewhere a couple of reports from the Jewish Chronicle about the demise of the Blooms restaurant, and how that business had left some out of pocket.
Oh Sandy, very sorry to hear that...i hope he feels better soon, it's not fun doing the night shift (though now that we can chat all night, it's not so bad )
Ah M Frenchie, i have some very strange childhood memories of Blooms, not least the seemingly unwritten rule that when in Blooms, one must slurp chicken soup with the loudest slurping sound possible, it was almost a competition! Not only that, but the waiters were obviously hired for their complete lack of desire to serve customers with any sort of politeness lol...it was an eating experience! Such a shame if it's gone under, though honestly not surprising.
OFH - we only had one sheep ready to lamb this year - we got the others towards the end of last year and they were first year old so not put to the ram till later this year. As our neighbours tell us (rightyl) we are just hobby farmers - not like them - up all night for weeks on end
Bloom's was owned by Mr. B's mother for those who didn't know.
How do you lot find time to read books? I do read them of course, but usually when I am on holiday or late at night. I suspect that my reading might be rather different to some of those mentioned, but then my need to learn a second language at my age takes up most of any spare brain cells that I have left.
OFH - Same as me, I only seem to find the time for books on holiday or late at night in the summer....real shame as I love getting stuck into a good yarn.
That's me for the night, got a busy week as I am escaping early on Friday to pick up little Miss W_Y from Uni - she is home for most of April...
BBW Iam 50 k south of Stavanger If you are going North ,then I suggest you go on a cruise ship!! or pick up the hurtigruten from bergen up the west coast!
Ha, we are taking a cruise!! And it is the Hurtigruten!! We will be travelling right up North into the Arctic Circle to get a good view of the Northern Lights. 7 nights up Northern Norway followed by 6 nights "daan saawff".
akureyri, you'll also be interested in my honeymoon (that sounds a bit wierd...) as we will be ending it in Iceland!! You'll have to let me know where the best Geysers are!!
There is Geysir which is also know as the Great Geysir at Haukadalur and Litli Geysir also at Haukadalur. If you go to the Thingvellir National Park there are the two geysir and also the Gulfoss waterfall. These are in the south west, the nearest town is ReykjavÃÂk but your boat might stop near Vestmannæyjar which is a volcanic island. Some cruise boats come to Akureyri as well.
Blooms was a good restaurant . If you ordered "duck" that is what you got. A whole duck. To yourself. With some red cabbage. So if two people ordered duck it would be two ducks. I don't know why it was not more popular.
