Well the lamb turns out to be a ram lamb - and Lennietta has name d him Mordecai - yes - don't ask and no it is not a Welsh name but Jewish I think. I once worked with a guy named Mordecai but he was always called Morty if memory serves me well

Should we be concerned that the property in High Wycombe appears to be an empty office?

Everything about this takeover feels wrong to me. Now the registered address is up for sale, I know house prices are on the up but surely this will not cover the capital required ;)

Can anyone explain to me what will stop Bazini taking whatever money he wants out of the club once he has control. Yes I know he may have a few debts to pay to LA and Simpson if they build these into their sale clauses but in the event we go up in a year or two there is a vast fortune to be kicking around and if he owns the club he can take whatever salary and dividends he likes and nothing can legally stop him.

I cannot believe his takeover is anything but a disaster in the making but there is no stopping it. By buying the shares at 1p he cannot lose really - he either comes into a fortune or he does what he has in lots of other of his businesses and lets them go into liquidation - and we know what that means for a football club. How can the Watford Observer stand so idly by?

Lenny - I am with you on this. It absolutely stinks of a quick smash and grab as much cash as they can and leave a disaster behind.

BTW - Was not the registered address of the tin-pot Broadband company that was a shirt sponsor before it went tits up also in Low Wymcombe? Smell gets stronger by the day...

Hmmm, this "take-over" does seem to get more suspicious on a day-to-day basis. I would assume Graham Taylor has had a great deal of involvement with this bid. Surely we are missing something here, because I certainly could not imagine him agreeing to this (based on what we have seen so far). It just doesn't add up though. Lord Ashcroft, although having all the money in the world, would do all he could to ensure he doesn't make a loss. He is a business man, and a very successful one at that. There has to be more to this bid than is being advertised, which if true, is a sensible decision.

But, like everyone else, I can't help but act suspicious, and be concerned.

At the moment, I would rather go through a period of unease each year, than have an owner with a similar background to Laurence Bassini.

Norwayhornet - I keep forgetting to ask: Where are you based in Norway? I (along with my future wife) am going there on my honeymoon, Northern Norway to be precise. Can you recommend any interesting sights/visits?!

Mordechai was Esther's cousin in the Book of Esther. He was the one that persuaded Esther to go to King Ahasuarus as try and be queen so that she could keep him sweet on the Jewish people and not bump them all off. She did indeed marry the king, had the Prime minister executed for plotting against the Jews and everyone lived happily ever after. (except the PM of course, who's name is Haman, and traditionally pastries called Haman's pockets (humantaschen) are eaten...they're very much like danish pastries with poppy seeds. Very topical coz it's read at the festival of Purim, which was last weekend (yep, i'm Jewish lol)

Blimey - thanks Hornette - I looked on Wiki and saw it said something about Esther but yours is a far better summary. I knew it was a Jewish festival on Sunday as we had roast Pork and Lennietta said it was most inappropriate :)

BBW - just viewed Norway's profile and he says he is from Varhaug near Stavanger - that seems to be quite far South - south of Bergen and Oslo - but I am sure he will have toured around - it must be such a beautiful country you would not want not to see a lot of it

Back from corporate Bandit Country a little early today. I received the dreaded call from the nursery......my youngest has decided to reject his food again in a bad way :emoticon-0119-puke:. Looks like Mrs Sandy and I will be drawing straws to see who has to forfeit work tomorrow and look after him .

It's a good chance to spend time with him but couldn't have come at a worse time regarding work.

As I am home now, a large View attachment 1501 please ak.
