Afternoon all - just finished a busy afternoon in the garden. Put 2 new security lights up as one old one was dead and other kept coming on in the day as well! Got the garden furniture out of the shed and dusted it down and removed the various insects and spiders that had wintered in there, so all set for summer!

Cannot wait now for Thursday to come round..H - did Norway manage to grab a ticket?

I have the continuing task of weeding celandine out of our garden it has run amok.. front and back.... and each of the thousands of little plants leave several little "seeds" in the ground if you don't get it out... an absolute nightmare...... still it helps recovery from Saturday a little...has been an emotional and physical roller coaster...

Good luck with that Yorkie. I thought that celandine grew from tubers and not seeds - which means a lot of digging & disturbing of soil needed? It has its good points though - lots of yellow ..........

I will try and get tickets for the games but I have little hope. For tickets, not a good outcome.

Leo, thanks for your concern. It's possible that it's connected to the move but I have had this issue before with no apparent reason. I'm feeling better than I was earlier.

Had a lovely day at Saaaarrrrrfend with Maestroette........well mostly a nice day <yikes>

I did venture on a couple of rides with her. I managed the dodgems without too much trouble - H, I may need a refresher course. Have you got any spaces? :emoticon-0105-wink:

I ventured onto the Ferris wheel, thinking that it although it was quite high, it wasn't fast enough for me to leave my stomach behind.
For some reason, Marstroette decided it would be fun to let the devil in. She rattled the 'cage' and took great delight in tell me how the cage was turning around on it's own. She couldn't understand why I had my eyes tightly shut at this point :emoticon-0111-blush.

However, much worse was to follow <yikes>

She had already been on the ride called 'RAGE' at lest 4 times on her own, and after much hectoring and pleading, I decided I would go on it with her as it was the last ride of the day.

I got my tickets for the ride, handed them over and duly lined up inside the barrier.
It was at this point not only did second thoughts occur, but also 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th etc.

It looked bad enough from outside the barrier, but stood inside the barrier and looking directly up at the height, I wondered when the men in the white coats would come to collect me, because, surely no man in his right mind would go on that ride of his own accord.

If I thought that Maestroette had the devil in her on the Ferris wheel, nothing could have prepared me for the depths she would sink to to make me even more nervous for her amusement.
As on 'car' passed overhead at a supersonic speed and looping the loop, she then pointed up at the rails and said, "Look dad. That rail is wobbling just where that car has been." I honestly don't think I have ever been as white as I was at that moment.

The 'car' arrived and we got in. The car trundled slowly vertically up the tracks. This isn't too bad I thought, then suddenly my stomach was not where it was supposed to be. I half expected it to end up in my eyeballs. Oh my dear good Lord. Not an experience I want to go through again.

"dad, dad. Look at the sights", Maestroette screamed in delight. "I can't, I can't. My eyes are closed" screamed back dad in pure terror :emoticon-0111-blush :emoticon-0111-blush

As we got off, she begged to look at the photos. How embarrassing. A massive photo of Maestroette screaming delightedly, and dad next to her, holding on for dear life and eyes tightly shut. It didn't help when she uttered the words, "Dad. Why were you praying?"

If you want to see the ride I am on about here is the link.

I'm with you Maestro - I hate them and my brood just love either winding me up that I have bottled it or winding me up because I have my eyes closed and look like death afterwards...you have my utmost sympathy and I count myself lucky my brood are old enough to go on their bloody own!

Great description of an English bank holiday. ;)

If it had been normal you might have avoided it because of bad weather. :(
