Morning all Another lovely sunny day here...a relaxing one after Mrs H's grandson's 2nd birthday up in London yesterday. I was persuaded to go in his new trampoline with him and, rather like Maestro above, began to think I'd had too much cake, cream, beer and barbequed meat. I was rather quiet on the train home... Hope all's well at the doc, BB. Sorry about Kenny Jackett...a proper professional...
haha, yep, that would! I hate to say it, but i think it'll be Sunderland...i'd prefer it to be Wigan..they scrape through every year and never get any better...they need a dose of Championship football, they're better suited there! Sad news about KJ...he's a good manager imo...i hope he gets a job soon. Morning all, thanks for the caramel latte Ak. w_y, i'm so excited about Thursday..can someone explain why i feel far more positive about the playoffs than i did about the Leeds game?!
Afternoon all, French lesson this morning, the last for three weeks as I am hitting the fleshpots of the south next week. A parcel that I expected to arrive didn't, instead a letter telling me to contact a number and sort out a delivery date. Phoned given number and was greeted by auto-woman speaking at 100 km/h. Having listened twice I plumped for tapez 1 . Strange techno sounds arrived in my ear before same voice started to advertise the wonderful gifts available through their company. Eventually a real person arrived to speak to me, and as it had an English speaker available I took the lazy way out and asked to speak to them. Back into the advertising messages again, with occasional recall on their part that I was still there and would be dealt with shortly. Then everything went very quiet and I realized that I had been cut off. 15 minutes of my life had been taken up with nothing to show for it. Picked up the phone and re-dialed. "All of our customers service people are very busy, please try later". Looking at the clock I spotted it was midday. Busy? More likely they had gone off for their dinner.
Norway, I know you asked OFH, but for me the cost of flights is already looking prohibitive, especially as there'll be 3 of us travelling, dread to think what it'll be like on Sunday afternoon. This is the big problem with it being played on a Bank Holiday Monday at the start of half term.
Wembley will probably still be teeming with hungover Germans that day - or Irishmen who've arrived a couple of days early.........
I remember in 06 seeing some Munster fans still in a pub in Cardiff from the Heineken Cup Final the day before.
There was a tale (urban myth i'm sure) of some Scotland fans who stayed in Argentina after the 78 world cup and never came back. Not sure how you expalin that one to the wife and kids.......
No I will be still down on the Med. Suggested that Mme would like Wembley more, but she was not convinced.
I would think that is one of the benefits - no need to explain to the wife and kids Even better in the day before the internet, FB and Twatter...no one could find you!
The final is right in the middle of Mlle's last A level revision....... no worries then... .she will come with me!
The play-offs saw Watford play Leicester And all were prepared for a tester But the Hornets made hay And scored six goals away Which satisfied this Hornet Nester
