It seems like it might be worth having a thread to discuss this game and our (presumed) Saints runs in it

And not hijack other threads with this discussion

This year's trick is going to be doing well enough and having enough money to persuade Endrick over from Brazil. He's bonkers good. Freddy Adu good.

Does he not agree a move in the first window then? I know he can’t actually move until 18. That is good news if so

I still remember signing Lewandowski early - but not as early as I would have liked. I don’t think it was quite from the polish league because saints were in the championship in my first season. So whatever year that was.

Not yet he hasn't but still first season. His agent has told me he's not interested in moving to Saints, but if I can keep up this CL level form, he might come over the summer. I've signed bag loads of young Brazilians, as ever, so hopefully it'll tempt him!

I’m already thinking about what I’d do. I’ve read there is only a 20m budget left over in the first window as the game was presumably set up before it because apparent we were prepared to spend more than that on deadline day

I’ve mention elsewhere needing upgrades for:

    - Adam Armstrong
    - Elyounoussi

and a backup DM. Not sure 20m stretches to those three.

I don’t know who it is possible to move on / who is actively wanted by other sides. Because obviously in game world there might be a bit more scope for more changes such as moving on Walcott and McCarthy to try and free up a chunk more wages

Of course in the real world I mean upgrades to the two I mentioned and keep them in the squad. In FM it might well mean trying to get rid so booting out three attackers and bringing in four. But by all accounts Armstrong is worth keeping in game world

Yeah, relatively easy to move on Moi, Stu, Lyanco, Theo, Diallo etc. I got Elanga on loan as well, which was worthwhile.

I feel we should also have a thread to celebrate my current run of getting Wordle in 3.

I quit Wordle in a huff because I didn't realize that your streak ends if you don't do one. I was 100-something for 100-something and missed a day and went back to 0.

Elanga on loan doesn’t seem like the craziest idea in real life if main targets don’t appear in January

There's an amazing young goalkeeper too, called (unfortunately for him) Dennis Seimen at Stuttgart.

I kept Diallo and be actually outperformed JWP for much of my first season.

2nd season budget should be better because you have Bednarek, Tella and Smallbone who can all be shifted for decent money.

Update: just started my 2nd season and have been handed a budget of £48m plus a decent wage budget. That was after a 13th place finish in the first season and spending all £25m at the start

I think I'm going to have to buy FM23 after not buying the last couple. The sheer amount of wonderkids already at Saints is simply too tempting.

Ok then, I am now not going to sound like someone who has over 25 years experience in IT and is currently deploying the infrastructure for a rather large US bank's new payment platform over in the US and Canada.

Can someone tell me a bit more about football manager and how I would play it on say a Mac?

...Sometimes I am pleased for the relative anonymity of this forum....

I've just checked and there are Bazunu, ABK, Livramento, Small, Larios, Lavia, Dibling, Edozie and Mara. Which is pretty crazy. Slight shame Larios and Small are the same position but the is a minor complaint

Ignore - seem to be getting somewhere. Based a whole IT career on google, so that seems to have helped me set up my steam account (that I forgot I have had since 2015...)

Give yourself a bit of credit. I'm sure at least 20% of your IT career owes to Stack Overflow rather than Google.

Ask me about EKS, NLBs, ASG, AZs, Terraform or indeed most things AWS and cloud and I will bore you for hours. Ask me about 'consumer' IT and I am like a newbie <laugh>
