Does the Deep State exist?

There's a contradiction in what you're saying there imo.

Hitler and the nazi's were a totalitarian organisation in which if you even reported something negative you'd be in prison that afternoon and up in front of a firing squad the next morning. They used fear and hate to seize control and made people believe their misfortunes were as a result of some "outsiders".

Now don't get me wrong, there's plenty of that fear and hate used in politics today.

But at least with Blair millions could and did speak out about it. The population weren't all duped by it and spoke (and marched) against it. Where we were let down, was by people who claimed to be principled that in end succumbed and voted for the war. And it wasn't just Blair, every fcker who voted for it was as guilty as him and has the same blood on their hands.

We have checks and balances, Trebs. I accept that.

But what history has proven, time and time again, is that we perpetually walk a fine line between "freedom" and enslavement.

I am not so naive as to believe in "absolute freedom" because that is an impossible ideal. I studied Jurisprudence at Cambridge, and I am very well grounded in the philosophy of justice and politics.

But what I do discern is a tendency for people to bow, unquestioningly, to authority, and to cede hard-won freedoms without any question. That worries me deeply. Freedoms, once renounced, are doubly hard to get back. That's why they are worth fighting for.

You will take an opposing view to me - and I respect that - but I believe that we are no more than two steps away from a totalitarian state. It never sleeps, and it absolutely will take advantage of our lapse in diligence.

This is where I think it goes a bit off. It's why I said they're not clever enough or selfless enough to pull that off. You'd need to be both, with ALL those secret organisations trying to control the world.

not clever enough?

If you look into them, it is amazing/alarming how many are comprised of the same people.

Ahhh this is where it’s going...it’s the only route really...I knew it

im going to give the chopper a once over, you know, just incase

btw I’m a bit of a scholar on skull n bones, bohemian grove n all that interesting jazz...I agree with what you are saying but I’m staying out of this incase our allegiance tarnishes your argument?

cool eh.

Lol!

Keep the chopper warm, Bruv. But don't take that bird to the skies, not yet.

I am encouraged that there appears to be a general acceptance among us that our governments are not really in control and that, consequently, we - the people - are, in fact, powerless to affect any real change.

Where we appear to differ is the extent to which that control is concentrated (if, indeed, it is concentrated) into any organised society or entity that could, rightfully, be called a Shadow Government.

It's great to see the lads discussing this without turning on one another. I'm impressed.
