This call to put India in to bat first is looking worse with every passing minute.

I do think this England side try to be too clever at times. It's a great wicket, in good conditions yet they choose not to bat because of 4th innings average scores.

Tongue won't get it because most of his wickets were the tail enders but his ability to clean up the tail shouldn't be underestimated or ignored. Big reason why we on the match. India making 550 instead of 470 in the 1st innings and this is a totally different game.

I do still think England should have chosen to bat first and probably win more easily if they do (of course, we’ll never know)
India will rue the first innings, they could/should have made 600 from the position they were in and never given England a chance to win it

England's reasoning is that you have to take 20 wickets to win a game and there's more time to do that if you bowl first. Obviously there will be times where you simply have to bat first but I think it's great that England feel they can chase whatever they get set.
