Harmer's definitely getting some turn now. Imperative that we get a first innnings lead from here.

 

Varma just reverse swept Critchley for 6!

 

My first impressions of Varma are: Can we keep him for longer than 4 games please! Can we also sign him for next season if possible.

 

H 184 - 4 Tea. I wanted to say how well Varma was playing, knowing that the moment I said it, he would pop up a dolly! Harmer v Varma has been an entertaining watch...

As you would expect being Indian, Varma looks very assured playing spin bowling. Very useful when playing Essex!

 

I think it’s a way of keeping the proper batters focussed! Josh Davey and Lewis Gregory opened a few games ago!

That's a shame for Presty but that was a confidence building innings. 150 lead would be very useful.

This is the sort of situation you want Fuller and Abbott batting together. Got a nice lead so no pressure on them to stay in for a good period of time, just have a swing. If it comes off great, if it doesn't never mind.
