Clearly Headingley has been living a charmed life. The forecast really was poor, particularly the morning.
Has any player that never played a first team game for Saints ever recieved more derision than poor Tommy?
I'm assuming that bad light will become a risk at some point. So we might not want to take this chase too deep.
There's also the second new ball to consider. Don't want to be more than 20-25 runs away when that comes really.
I'm guessing Duckett will get MOTM. But there are many players who could have won it had their performance come in a different game - so many good performances.
Tongue won't get it because most of his wickets were the tail enders but his ability to clean up the tail shouldn't be underestimated or ignored. Big reason why we on the match. India making 550 instead of 470 in the 1st innings and this is a totally different game.
What a brilliant Test Match I do still think England should have chosen to bat first and probably win more easily if they do (of course, we’ll never know) India will rue the first innings, they could/should have made 600 from the position they were in and never given England a chance to win it
England's reasoning is that you have to take 20 wickets to win a game and there's more time to do that if you bowl first. Obviously there will be times where you simply have to bat first but I think it's great that England feel they can chase whatever they get set.
