So it all boils down to the fact that AL lacks a bit of tact perhaps. He's a great footballer but lacking in the social graces.

Given me a call and asked if he cold pop round for a cuppa to explain how he felt.

Do you think he handled everything ok?

You've answered your original question to me here. If lambert is the exception then Adam should learn from him; which is what I said and you questioned.

    Btw, I don't watch soaps.

I've not doubted his talent, just his behaviour.

It's difficult for Lallana though and easier for Rickie. Rickie was told of an offer that the club were minded to accept, to probably the only club which would have prised him away (short of a ridiculous offer).
Adam wanted a move and Saints didn't want to sell but he persisted.if he was the only one, the board may have remained adamant but since he was one of many, they agreed to sell reluctantly. He burnt his bridges with the club and the fans to bring this about. I suspect that given enough time we may eventually forgive him. 25 years, perhaps?;)

Exactly. I watched the game alone at home yesterday and when SRL was brought on I found myself smiling and applauding him. Never done that before for an opposition player.

To be honest no body knows.....It is highly possible.

Lallana came to Saints as a 12 year old from Bournemouth under 13's I think. Hence the sell on clause for Bournemouth.
To be fair he has never sought the limelight......When the spotlight is turned onto you people often act out of character he probably said something that could be interpreted in several ways. So the Reporter interpreted it in the way he thought would sell the story. That's what they do...hence the trend for all and sundry to keep knocking Saints!!

Can't get access to that. But yeah, I'm sure it was MP leaving that provoked the mass exodus. Just a shame none of them waited around to see what would happen next. Because we appointed a total legend as our new coach.

It kind of suggests in a way that they never really held Adkins in such high regard. Poor Nige.

    They didn't. We knew that.

He was a great manager up to Premiership level for us, but that was a step too far for him. He's a good Championship level manager, just as Billy Sharp is a decent Championship level striker. The endless nostalgic wish for both to be something different is slightly baffling!

The plot thickens...I wish MP, Rickie or one of the others would just come out and say why they all decided to go without all these little hints and innuendoes
Then we could decide for ourselves whether KL and the board are to blame or MP and the want away players
One day someone will come out and say it as it is

I'm not sure I care about the 'why' any longer. I just want us to progress and them regress to the point they all think "****, I should never have left St Mary's".

Might be easier for the likes of me and you to accept because we found Nigel quite annoying while everyone else bought into his catchphrases.

Seems like they think the ambition shifted which is why Poch and players then went. I don't see this as much concern to be honest. Going all out for the Champions League (the original ambition) would probably have crippled us as a club. The players may have left because they don't think the goal should have changed, but we need to establish ourselves as a Europa League club and improve our standing in Europe/globally and also commercially before we can think about making the top four. That's my take on it, anyway.
