Team V Tottenham

There was nothing wrong with the players. It was how we set up which was negative. Gray got in the box once all game with that header he should have scored

And bringing Iheanacho on to play on the wing is a joke. The lad is a striker. Give him a fair chance in his proper position.
That selection was a mistake. But then you definitely said before that you don’t mind the result but just want better performances and chances etc, entertaining football. I think we are starting to deliver that. The upcoming games are critical against those around and just below us

We had Tottenham on the ropes for abit. But not until he put a striker on

No one else got into goal scoring positions often enough

I want better performances with a competent manager who sets us out to have the best chance ot winning <ok>

Proud - That was not a negative performance. We missed chance after chance and on another day we would have scored 6. Yes, perhaps a little bizzare not to start with Vardy. You obviously hate Puel so much (and that is your opinion) but if he sh*t a gold bar, you would moan that it wasn't big enough!!!
I havent said the performance was negative. The tactics was negative

If Tielemans had played Vardy in for the chance Barnes fluffed in the first half he scores. Had he started he may (or may not) have scored the penalty. As a striker he got in position where he can score the goal that he did and pick the pass out for Barnes to miss that sitter

Stop trying to look at grey areas

Playing without a striker is negative. Its that black and white
You stop ignoring stats that contradict you.

It is in black and white that we had 20 shots in the game.

How do stats contradict playing without a striker is negative

Having none or a 1000 shots is irrelevant. Playing without a striker is negative.

Personally I’m fine with today. Lost away at Spurs and played well.
No shame in losing to Spurs. Just cant accept having a manager who sets us up like that

A manager job is to set up and prepare the team as best as possible to get a result. Yet again he failed to do that

Is that what is irking you? What does it matter as long as we are trying to win?

The likes of Barcelona and Man City played games without recognised strikers - are they negative teams?

You realise West Ham, Everton, Bournemouth etc are all in the same boat? Inconsistent, not putting runs together. Difference is the amount those clubs have spent compared to us. Wolves have 7th in the bag. If you want to win every game comfortably playing great football all the time you are supporting the wrong city tbh mate. The most negative thing for me is that we will probably lose some of these young players before really being successful

errr, Barnes times 3
Maguire header
Gray header

Look at the whole picture Proud, not just what you want to!

Sorry didnt realise we had players like Messi, Suarez, Coutinho, Dembele, Malcom Mahrez, De Bruyne, Sterling, Sane, Silva, Bernardo

All players who can score for fun from anywhere

When we have 1 player who can score goals and dont play him is silly. To then not play a striker is moronic

Its a negative move not to play a striker

And yes its negative when anyone doesnt play with striker.

Maguire’s header came from a set piece so dont count

And you do realise what “often enough” means

Barnes chances came from running from deep and the sitter came from Vardy gettint into positions creating space for Barnes

Thats not what I am asking you - I'm asking you if you think for example Barcelona playing Messi who is a midfielder up front is negative?

Everton are just as bad as us. Clueless manager

Bournemouth take teams on and have a go. Much prefer them and their style to clueless Claude

I dont have a problem with inconsistent performances or result. But an inconsistent manager isnt a good one

Messi is the best player ever to have lived. Dont even try and compare him to anyone of our players

And Messi is not a midfielder and never has been

He is a great player - so great that he can overcome Barcelona's "negative" tactics when he is played up front instead of a recognised striker.

We used to have one of those in our side, but even some of our fans couldn't see what a class player he is and wanted him out of our club! Now that's clueless.

Look I’m fed up with the results as well but we aren’t anywhere near as bad as we were under the last two managers. It’s unreasonable that a manager should only get a season to carry out a transformation of an entire squad. The club and squad is on another level to what is was before and we will be better in the long run for the work he is doing. He’s doing the ugly work of breaking up the past it aging squad we had. Some fans would still have Simpson and Morgan hoofing it long to the oppos gk time after time

No offence but that is bollocks mate - we pushed both Man Utd and Spurs to the limit.
Yet lost both. Neither even looked for a second after going 1 up, happy to sit back and watch us squander chances.

They are improved performances, but when anyone can say "we should have got something out of that" and we havn't, thats a failure, but its still an improvement that we can actually say that.
